The Calm Before The Storm

All the soldiers travel to the meteor. They get out and into their commanded positions. As Katsu's father is in the outer group of soldiers above the crater he looks into it. The meteor is 50 ft tall, glowing a purple-blue color and its light is pulsing.

DAD: "Amazing! It's like it's from a sci-fi movie."

Richie comes over from behind him and looks down into the hole.

RICHIE: "Are we seriously questioning if this is the reason for this snow fall? It's pulsing light for god's sakes."

Down below, a team of researchers and soldiers circling the meteor inside the crater. The soldiers with their guns pointed at it and scientific researchers carrying tools down and around the hole. The General is down there standing with the head researcher.

GENERAL: "Well I must say Dr. this is definitely other worldly. The main question is why is it making the world snow over?"

The Dr. walks towards the meteor.

DR.: "We're going to have to break it apart. Find out what's inside and find a way to destroy whatever is inside."

He looks back at the General.

DR.: "If your men and women do their job mine will get right to work."

GENERAL: "You see our guns pointed at the thing. And only our men are up there so nobody intrudes on your party."

The Dr. looks back at the meteor.

DR.: "Good. Then we'll get started.(grabs megaphone)Alright Team A is on tool and debris duty. Team B you're on c***k down let's get to it."

Men in hard hats get on lifts and are raised to the top of the rock while Dad and Richie watch on from above.

DAD: "Well, looks like they're finally gunna start cracking this thing apart."

It is now around 5am, 5 hours since the light snow started to lightly coat the world in snow. The sun is about to rise off the horizon and it shines on the men on the lift and the "meteor". They are holding pickaxes. The lift stops and the Dr. is heard over the megaphone.

DR.(MEGAPHONE): "OK first we are going to make a light tap. Nothing too serious. We still want to research what its power is. Any pieces that fall off are to be collected and bagged by the ground team! Everyone ready?"

MEN ON LIFTS: "Yes sir!"

The 10 men lightly tap on the meteor. (tink) Nothing

DR.(MEGAPHONE): "Again! A little harder!"

Again the men swing but a little harder (tink!) Nothing

DR.(MEGAPHONE): "Just as I thought, ok men full swings break-"

But before he can finish there is a rumble. It is shaking the ground immensely. Some men fall over. Where Katsu's father and Richie are the shaking is so strong it knocks Richie down into the crater.

DAD: "RICHIE!!"

The meteor starts to c***k open. The soldiers and scientists alike are all watching in horror. The meteor explodes with pieces shattering everywhere, some pieces fire off as fast as bullets into scientists and soldiers unfortunate to be close enough. Men fall from the lifts and some are shown crashing down. A bright white light makes everyone cover their eyes even from above.

Once it fades and he brings his arms down, Dads face turns to shock and horror.

A loud shriek is heard and a dragon 50 ft tall, wings, and crystal/ice features appears.
