Chapter 1 - The Rogue

954 Words
Moonlight Pack's Territory The doors to the dungeons slammed open as Alpha Alexander, or Xander to those who were close to him, stormed down the dark musty cells to interrogate a rogue. This particular one had been annoying him for a while, coming on and off his land without a single care, but it was odd. As far as he knew the had come willingly with them but wouldn't shift.  He came to the very last cell in the dungeons, looking inside. There seemed to be absolutely nothing inside it, and if it was not for his heightened senses picking up the sound of a heartbeat he would have truly thought that there was nothing in the cell. He leant against the wall staring into the barred room. A few moments passed by in pure silence until an unfamiliar voice sounded in his head, surprising him as he had cut off the pack link coming down into the dungeon.  'Are you going to speak or are you just going to stand there?' He was so startled that he almost fell off his perch on the wall. A beautiful black wolf, the same colour as the darkest of black inks, prowled from the shadows. It's two bright blue, intelligent eyes, the same colour as sapphires, seemingly glowing in the dim light. It was lager then most other wolfs, it's shoulders level with his own when it stood which was no small feat as he was easily 6 foot7.  "How are you in my head?" He murmured coming closer to the bars but not touching them as they were silver as would burn him if he did.  'Your head is open 90% of the time it wasn't hard to break into so that I could talk to you.' The black wolf had now moved forward and was sitting calmly behind the bars, seemingly observing him.  He looked at the wolf curiously. Most rogues would normally scream at him or try and get out of the cell, but this wolf was completely calm with their predicament. "Why won't you shift?" At his question the wolf seemed to laugh at him, the sound sounding weird from out of its wolfish mouth. 'You expect me to shift in front of you. I'm sorry but if you haven't already noticed, I am female. I don't exactly want to shift in front of a raging hormonal male.' She seemed to scoff at that point, shaking her head at his obliviousness.  "So if I get you some clothes you will shift and we can speak properly?" She bowed her head in agreement. 'Isaac,' Xander called his Beta, and best friend, 'I need you to get some female clothes for a rogue, she won't shift without them.'  A moment later a reply sounded through his head. 'I have some clothes, which cell are you at?' 'The last cell on the east corridor.'  'Coming your way now.' With that, the link was shut and he turned back to the she-wolf that was in the cell, she had moved into a lying down position by this point and seemed slightly more comfortable in that position. "My Beta, Isaac, is coming with some clothes for you." She seemed pleased at that and that thought made his wolf smile. He frowned as that was unusual behaviour for his wolf but he shook it off as Isaac came around the corner a pile of female clothes in his hands.  "Alpha," he said bearing his neck as a sign of respect, "I have brought you the clothes that you wanted." Xander nodded in appreciation before gesturing to the black wolf in the cell. She had closed her eyes at this point seems completely relaxed despite being locked in a cell with the top 2 ranks of a pack on the other side of the silver bars. Isaac pushed the clothes through the bars, making sure the material touched the bars and not his skin. The clothes fell in a heap on the other side of the bars and on top of her head, startling the wolf as she shot into a sitting position her sapphire eyes shooting open as she glares good-naturedly at Isaac a slight growl rumbling from her chest. It soon stopped as her eyes widened, recognising the figure on the other side of the bars. At the same time, Isaac's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the wolf. It looks almost exactly the same as his sisters only slightly older them the last time that he had seen her, 'No she's dead like everyone else Isaac, stop giving yourself false hope when there is none.' He scolded himself 'Turn around.' She said as both males turning their backs on her. They heard the telltale signs of someone shifting and the rustle of clothes. "You can turn around." A soft, melodic voice rang out. The voice sending weird tingles down Xander's back and sending Isaac into a whirlpool of confusion. He knew that voice. That was the voice of his twin sister, the one that made him breakfast every morning, taught him how to fight with head and not his muscles, the one that knew absolutely everything about him, but that was impossible, she was dead. Both males turned to see the clothes that Isaac had given her, his sister's clothes, as that was all that he had time to collect before coming down, fit her perfectly. A long black braid hung down her back stopping less than an inch above her bottom, her skin was the colour of chocolate and her bright sapphire eyes glistened as she looked at them. "Zaccy?" The name came out as a curious, but pained, whisper. At the name, Isaac choked back a sob. Only one person had ever called him that. It was her. Somehow, some sort of miracle happened, and she was here. "Kyia."
