Pack your bags it's time to go to school

Sapphire opened her eyes gently,the early morning sun burned.

She couldn't sleep well. Since the day she had that weird dream she'd been having similar ones to that. She rubbed her sleepy eyes.

Your aunt's coming, better get up. She doesn't like late risers.

Sapphire heard a lucid voice. She looked around.

"Anybody there? She got up from the bed. Her heart beating twice as fast.

is this another dream.

She picked up an old umbrella,ready to smack anything that came her way.

Suddenly the door opened and she flung the umbrella with much force. There was nothing there, just her aunt who had ducked to avoid her head from being punctured. The umbrella was stuck to the wall.

Sapphire's eyes widened and she gasped. Her aunt got up and looked at her.

"Sapphire what was that for? Are you trying to kill the first person who comes into your room"

"Em.... no off course not. I.....was just doing some stretches "Sapphire turned suddenly stretching.

"With an umbrella and in your pajamas? Her aunt asked raising a brow.

Sapphire looked at herself.

"Em.....yeah "

Wendy smoke her head and pulled the umbrella from the wall.

"If you wanna lie to me,try not to stammer. I might actually believe you"

Sapphire sighed and said calmly.

"What makes you think I'm lying?

"You heard a voice didn't you? Wendy asked ignoring Sapphire's initial question.

Sapphire was stunned.

"How did you know?

Wendy had suspected that Sapphire had started hearing a voice. Sadly it was going to get a lot worse. She only wished she could tell Sapphire she knew the reason her parents sent her away. If only she could tell Sapphire that she had the answers to her questions but she couldn't. She wasn't in the position to. She'd be breaking the rules if she did. Sapphire would have to figure it out by herself just like she did when she was her age.

"I didn't know, I just thought you might have heard something that scared you"

"Well yeah I did. Did you hear it too?

"Not really. I'm sure it's one of the neighbors trying to wake everyone up with some loud rock music"

"Yeah sure" Sapphire doubted that, She knew she had heard something and it was so clear,she couldn't deny it.

"So anyway hurry up. Miss Hawkins will be here to pick you up soon"

"Miss Haw...who?

"Miss Hawkins. She is going to be your guide at Hillary High"

"Hillary what? You mean school? I'm going to school already. I mean I just came two days ago . I haven't seen all of London and no to mention.... "Sapphire's talked non stop .Wendy pinned Sapphire's mouth with her fingers.

"Get ready. I'll go make breakfast. I want you in the kitchen in ten minutes. Got it"Wendy commanded and walked towards the door.

"But I haven't even taken an entrance exam"Sapphire shouted so her aunt could hear her in the lobby. She didn't get a reply.

"I definitely didn't expect this so soon"Sapphire took her towel and proceeded to the bathroom to take a shower.

Wendy flipped the pancakes gently humming Lionel Richie's Hello.

Sapphire walked into the kitchen attracted by the aroma of the pancakes.

"Hmm. Those smell good "

"Well aren't you hungry?Come try some "Sapphire walked to the counter and stuffed a pancake in her mouth but recoiled suddenly removing it from her mouth screaming.

"Be careful they're hot"

"Ouch .Yeah that Info would have been useful few seconds ago"

Wendy giggled.

"Well next time think twice before you stuff food into your face"

Sapphire ignored Wendy's comment trying to nurse her hurt tongue. The stinging pain suddenly stopped. She touched her tongue. It was like it never got burned. It must have been her powers. She shook her head in relief. At least it still had a good side even if she didn't how to make it happen by herself.

She proceeded to eat the pancakes but heard a doorbell.

"Go get the door Sapphire "

Sapphire sighed.

"The universe just doesn't want me to have breakfast this morning "

"Quit wining .Someone's at the door"

Sapphire dragged her exhausted body to the door and opened it to see a formally dressed slender or rather thin lady at the door.

"Good morning. Are you Sapphire Brown?

"Yes I am. How so you know......

Wendy interrupted her.

"Miss Hawkins. It's a pleasure to meet you "She extended a hand.

"The pleasure is all mine"Miss Hawkins took her hand.

"And I was beginning to think I wouldn't get a proper welcome "Miss Hawkins added giving Sapphire a stern Look. Sapphire understood and lowered her head.

"Sorry mam"

"It's alright but you should know that first impressions matter a lot"She had a very strong British accent that made her sound so polite.

"Oh. Sorry about her. You know teenagers"Wendy waved it off as a joke. Miss Hawkins smiled.

"Don't you worry Hillary high will try it's very best to make her perfect. After all our motto is perfection to the fullest for a reason "

Wendy and Miss Hawkins laughed a little. Sapphire didn't find it funny at all.

"Anyway Sapphire right. We must leave now. Time is no longer by our side"

Sapphire nodded and went in to get her luggage.

Wendy walked them over to the car.

"Well Sapphire this is it. Be a good girl and try to stay out of trouble "

Sapphire only mumbled a reply. This was going to be her new life. At least now she could adjust things like hiding her powers and visions.

No one will suspect a thing. She wished she had read that book she saw but Wendy didn't want her to. She had a feeling it was because of that book.

Soon they were on their way to the school .

"Well Sapphire we haven't been formally introduced. I am Miss Genevieve Hawkins. You have been placed under my care and supervision .Anything you have a problem you report to me first and any misconduct from you shall be handled by me .Is that understandable? She spoke sternly.

"Yes ma'am "

There was total silence till they got to the school which was now her new home.
