- Listen up boy, I know you planted that officer there. - Harry didn't waste any time getting angry.
- Harry, calm down, - Tom said, - think about this logically. First of all, I was with you, and second of all, how do you think I planted a police car? Officers have jobs, it's not like they're gonna stay around waiting for somebody.
- Well maybe they do. There is no way that that was just a coincidence.
- Everything in life is pure chance. Let's say I called them, by the time they would've come there, we would still be standing on the other side of the forest and I would go to jail because I called them for no reason. Now that we got that out of the way, how about that money? I won the race, didn't I? - Tom's hands were getting sweaty.
- I signed up for a fair race, so don't even think about increasing what I already owe you. My permit got taken away because of you, don't dare to ask for money.
- Okay, whatever, get the work done. - Tom hung up.
They talked with Emily and they came to the conclusion that getting his permit taken away was enough.
- There we go, we closed another path for the king. One step after another and he'll have nowhere to move to. - Tom said as he pulled into the driveway.
- And then we win.
- Yup...And what then? - Tom asked.
- We'll see. For now, let's focus on the revenge plan. Anyway, did you have any plans for tonight?
- I'm gonna clean up a library, feel like that would be good for me.
- You're gonna clean a library at night? - Emily seemed confused.
- Yeah, they said they need me at night so everything is organized in the morning. You can come with me if you want, the library should be completely empty.
- Sure, I'll come with you, sounds like fun.
Tom and Emily got ready and went out to the library. Tom unlocked the door and they went inside. It was a big, dark academia style library. They were the only people inside.
- This is fascinating. Such a huge library and there's nobody inside. - Emily was walking around.
- Yep, it's quite interesting. Anyway, I need to get some books sorted out. You can help me, it's gonna be much quicker.
- Sure, let's go.
They went into a room with a bunch of books. There was a piece of paper telling them to place the books in their correct places.
They both got a stack of books and started putting the books on the library shelves.
- Where would "Lord of the flies" go? - Emily asked while looking at the book.
- Right here, there's already like ten of them here. It's quite a good read if you haven't read it yet.
- What is it about?
- About some boys on a deserted island. They basically lose their mind, but who wouldn't? - Tom laughed. - Well, maybe it would actually be fun to live on a deserted island, at least for a little bit.
- What would you do? - Emily asked.
- You know, just live. Build a hut, swim in the ocean, eat some berries, catch some fish, get bit by a snake. Would I live? Who knows. If you placed every person on earth on a deserted island, only the strongest would survive, which I'm not sure if I'm a part of.
- And what would be the benefit in that? - Emily looked at him through some shelves.
- It wouldn't give any benefits immediately, but some generations later, their offspring would be strong since only the strong ones would survive. You know strong men create good times, good times create weak men, weak men create bad times and bad times create strong men. Right now we are weak men making hard times.
- That's a pretty interesting way to look at it. I'm out of books, I'm gonna get some more from the back.
- Yup, same here. By the rate we're going, we should be done pretty fast.
