Late nights

XXXIII

They went outside in the night. They located where their window should be.

- I'm not one hundred percent sure but I think this is the right window. - Tom said.

- Let's hope so, - Emily turned to Lucas, - you and Tom are gonna need to bring a ladder.

- Let's go get one, I know where to find it. - Tom said.

The ladder was heavy, so Tom was glad that Lucas had come with them. They put up the ladder and Emily volunteered to climb up it and knock on the window. She climbed up, peaked, and immediately put her head down.

- Oh boy, - Emily wasn't looking through the window.

- What's happening? - Tom asked.

- I'm gonna say that they are not wearing many clothes...pretty much none. - She put her head down and knocked on the window.

Caroline and Lola got startled. They quickly put some clothes on and opened the window.

- What the hell? Can people not enjoy things anymore? - Caroline asked.

- Listen up, - Emily was at the top of the ladder, - Olivia and Harry are right outside your door. I don't know why, but they're waiting for you to come out. You need to come with us and Lola has to leave the room, so that they would go away.

- Then they're gonna attack me. - Lola came to the window.

- No, you'll have a strong man next to you. - Emily called over Lucas.

They whispered to each other a bit more. Lucas climbed up into the room and let Caroline climb down. Lola unlocked the door and walked out. Olivia was ready to attack Carolie but felt like a complete i***t when she wasn't one of the people walking out. 

Meanwhile, Tom called a cab to get Caroline out of the area as fast as they could. Lola got in the taxi too and both of them went home.

- If it wasn't my party, I would go home too. - Tom and Emily were sitting outside.

- Yeah, me too. Do you think Olivia and Harry found out? - Emily asked.

- I doubt it. They know who Caroline is and we know that Olivia figured that out today, so she was probably angry. It's a valid reaction, we got pretty lucky getting her out of trouble.

They had to stay up for the whole night until everyone left. They went to sleep in the house since they had no energy to go home.

Tom felt exhausted when he woke up. They cleaned up and went home. Immediately after, Tom took another nap and felt like a completely new human. Emily, on the other hand, didn't want to get out of bed.

Tom went to their dorm to make them feel just a little better. Lola joined him too.

- I'm dying inside too, but obviously not as bad as you two. - Lola said, looking at Caroline and Emily.

- Oh yeah, it's not good at all, - Caroline said, - anyway, the party was fun...of course until someone knocked on the window.

- Hey, we had to do it, - Emily turned around, - it was for your own safety. If not us, you would've met Olivia and Harry right outside the door.

- You're right, you're right. Did you see us naked?

- No. - there was a pause. - Yes, yes I did.

- I knew it. - Caroline laughed.

- Let's not focus on that. The most important thing is that the plan worked. Maybe, we can't be sure until some time passes.

- Wait, I still have to talk to him, right? - Caroline asked.

- Yeah, keep texting him. 

They opened their door and window to let some air in. Coincidentally, Violet was walking right past.

- Hey V. - Caroline called her across the room.

- Hello, - she stood in the doorway, - not in the best condition I see.

- Yeah, not at all. Anyway, what are you up to today? Got anything interesting going on today?

- No, not really. I'm just gonna hang out.

- Cool, with whom?

- Just by myself.

- Alrighty then, hit us up if you need company.

Caroline always talked to Violet like an old friend.
