Fortunately for my sleep routine, Mart and I got so annoyed with one of the new husbands on our show that we made it an early night, and I was sound asleep by ten. Unfortunately at two a.m., Aslan, my queen of a cat, decided it was time to share my pillow but only after it was fluffed to her exact specifications. So I was awake for a bit right in the middle of the night because my brain kicked in as soon as my eyes opened. Fortunately, I had begun to be a lot better about controlling my thoughts and forced myself to think about what Mart and I were going to plant next in our new native flower bed beside the house instead of spiraling into my list of to-dos and worries for the week. When my alarm went off at six-thirty, Aslan was pressed against the back of my skull, and she was snoring.
