The next day was filled with another round of mental torture. I was constantly fighting off thoughts of the wolf from last night. Its eyes reminded me vaguely of Monsieur Aurelien, but I didn’t want to get myself into bigger trouble by mentioning something so absurd to him. What if he kicked me out? Or worse, what if he was the wolf from last night and tried to eat me—and not in the romantic way? I was terrified of him.
