Mark rushed to Aleyna’s side who had collapsed on the floor and took the phone from her. He listened to the updates from Susan and his expression was grim. He gently placed Aleyna on the bed and made arrangements for them to return to Philadelphia. Aleyna watched Mark as he made calls to catch the earliest flight back home. He gave her a glass of water which she gulped in an instant. As she got over the initial shock she asked Mark what her mother had told him.
“Ley, you need to relax. Nana has been taken into emergency, she will be alright. She’s a strong lady. We have a flight in six hours so sleep for a while. I’ll do the packing and inform Defne as well.” Mark was trying to alleviate her anxiety.
