A Dangerous Ultimatum

"Anabella, get out of my way!" I yanked my arm out of her hard hold and snapped. Leaning against the doorframe, she folded her arms and grinned. Do you think I'll let you run to Dominick? You are an interruption. He does not need you. I am necessary to him. I glared at her as I stepped closer. And you believe that he desires you? Dominick would have claimed you by now if he desired you. But here you are, clinging to his mother’s schemes.” She paused to grin but immediately covered it with a sneer. "Watch what you say, Omega. You don't belong here, even if you managed to get inside his home. Additionally, I'll make sure you leave. Anger was seething under my skin, and I could feel my wolf awakening. "You'll regret it, but you can try." She gave a somber laugh. Threats are beneath you, my dear. However, let me clarify something. If you go out of this room, you’ll be walking into your death.” I arched an eyebrow. "What are you discussing?" "Alexander," she said in a poisonous tone. "He's out there, and believe me, he's not here to strike up a conversation." A beat skipped in my chest. "Is Alexander present?" Her grin grew as she nodded. "Did I not warn you? Lisa, don't get involved. Dominick will take care of him. "No," I firmly answered. "I'm fighting this too." Sharp and sarcastic, her laughter echoed. “Your fight? Oh, please. Alexander is too powerful for you to handle. All you are is a broken omega. I didn't want her to realize how hurtful her remarks were. I fired back, pushing past her and making my way to the door. "We'll see who's broken," I said. Her claws dug into my wrist as she seized it once again. "I won't protect you if you leave this room." I snorted. "Who said I required your defense?" Dominick's POV "Alexander!" I shouted and marched at him, my claws becoming longer. He had a smug smile on his face as he stood at the edge of the battlefield. Despite everything going on around him, he spoke calmly and stated, "Dominick Rey." "A long time has passed." "Not enough time," I snarled. “What are you doing here?” He softened his stance and shrugged. "I came to check out your new gizmo. Word spreads quickly, you know.” My wolf growled, a fire burning in my breast at the thought of Lisa. "If you even glance at her—" He smirked and interrupted, "You'll what?" "Death me? Wait, I forgot. You are too morally upright for that. I took a step forward and bared my teeth. “Don’t test me, Alexander.” His smile became bigger. "Calm down, Rey. I'm not looking to fight. At least not yet. "So, what brings you here?" I insisted. He c****d his head, seeming to be innocent. "I have to remind you that she was my priority." "You never had her!" With my nails sinking into my hands, I snapped. The harsh sound of Alexander's laughter annoyed me. "Rey, you tell yourself that all the time. But you know in your heart that she will always be connected to me. Lisa's POV I ignored Anabella's cries behind me as I dashed along the corridor. As I got closer to the battlefield, my heart was racing, and the sounds of clashes and growls became louder by the second. "Lisa!" As I arrived in the clearing, Dominick's voice could be heard clearly. Standing just a few steps away from Alexander, he had a tight, attack-ready physique. Alexander's grin widened as his gaze shifted to mine. "Well, well. Observe who chooses to attend the celebration. As his eyes pierced me, I froze, my blood icy. I was overcome with memories of his treachery, but I made myself keep my composure. "Lisa," Dominick said, his tone a little lower. "Return inside." I took a step closer and shook my head. "No. I'm not hiding. The sound of Alexander's laugh filled the room. "I remember Lisa like that. Always so unyielding. "Stop talking!" My voice trembled with rage as I snapped. "You're not allowed to talk to me." He arched an eyebrow. I see you're still feisty. How does it feel to be Dominick's charity case, Lisa? Dominick attacked him with his claws aimed at Alexander's neck before I could react. Alexander ducked and swung his claws in retaliation, his laughter echoing. "Lisa, get out of here!" As he and Alexander fought, Dominick snarled. I couldn't simply stand there, however. Frustrated, my wolf screamed for me to engage in combat. Dominick's POV "Leave her alone!" Chelsea had shown up at the battlefield's edge, and I yelled at her. She answered, "Yes, master," and hurried over to Lisa. But, Lisa refused to move. Rather, she took a step forward, her gaze fixed on Alexander. "You believe that you can simply reenter my life and behave as though you are my owner?" She yelled at him. Alexander laughed as he avoided another of my blows. Own you? I don't have to own you, Lisa. You will always return to me. For a brief period, her defiance wavered, but she soon recovered her poise. "You're not correct. The girl you tossed down that cliff is not me. A glimmer of irritation replaced his grin. "We'll check on that." "Enough!" With a growl, I cut through his side with my claws. With a groan, he staggered back but soon got his bearings. Alexander retreated toward the battlefield's edge, saying, "This isn't over." However, Rey, don't worry. I will return. Lisa's POV I drew a trembling breath as Alexander vanished into the woods. I had trouble staying upright, and my legs felt like jelly. Dominick turned to face me, his face displaying a mixture of worry and rage. "What did you think when you came out here?" My voice was shaking as I continued, "I couldn't just sit back and do nothing." With a groan, he combed through his hair. "You might have died." My rage flared when I looked him in the eye. Dominick, I'm not some weakling damsel. I'm capable of handling my problems. His voice was stern, yet his eyes softened. "You no longer have to fight by yourself." Chelsea showed up at Dominick's side, her face white, before I could reply. "Master, you have to see something." "What is it?" he inquired in a cautious tone. After a moment of hesitation, she said, "Anabella... she's gone." Dominick's hands clenched at his sides as his eyes darkened. "Gone? "Gone?" What do you mean? Chelsea took a deep breath. "She left a message." His face went as he read the piece of paper she had given him. "What is it saying?" With my pulse racing, I inquired. His jaw tensed as he gave me the letter. It was a brief yet scary message: For now, Lisa, you may have him. However, avoid being too at ease. It's not over yet. With panic beginning to seep into my chest, I glanced up at Dominick. "Is she not finished?" His voice was icy and resolute as he shook his head. "No. Nor am I.
