A starry night emerges as a perfect time for the supernatural to come out.
Vladimir— a renowned prince of the vampire bloodline.
He always seeks something that can make his life a bit more— exciting— and he decided to travel around the world.
And yet— he found nothing.
Until he encountered something that'll change his life forever.
...
...
...
It was just like another night for Vladimir— roam the lands to see something that satisfies his desire to see something exciting.
Vladimir was seen walking around the streets of a busy town— it was crowded— perfect for a simple kill that no one will notice.
But he wasn't like that— he will only kill when it is needed— and that isn't the time.
He wanted to see something exciting— so he continued to roam.
"Excuse me, sir?" Vladimir turns to see a small girl— not older than six— tugging on his black cloak— smiling innocently.
He gave a questioning look, "What is it, little one?" She reaches out both of her hands.
"Can you carry me?" The count pauses.
"Where are your parents, dear?" She sadly looks down— getting the hint— he smiled sadly, "That's alright dear. Come, let us find a better spot."
He carries the small girl— letting her sit on his shoulders— Vladimir walks through the crowd of people before stopping in a secluded area of the streets.
"Are you comfortable dear?" The girl hummed happily making the count smile.
"You're so tall, mister! I wish I could be as tall as you!" He amusedly smiles.
"When you grow older dear— maybe you can." She giggles happily.
A loud bang echoed in the night— they look up to see many different particles in the sky— a big happy smile adorned the little girl's face.
"I see you're enjoying this, little one." She hummed happily.
"It only happens once a year! And I get to see it with someone now!" Her vampire friend smiled.
Shouts and cheers filled the air once this event started.
That was until a fire started to rise from another part of town— some of the townsfolk started to gather around it.
The count— along with the girl— started walking towards the fire.
And once they reached it— they were met with a horrid sight— a body— nailed on a wooden cross.
The vampire held the little girl close— seeing that she was trembling upon the sight.
"F-Father..." The girl trembled— clinging onto the count's torso.
"There, there..." Vladimir comforts the small child— rubbing her head, "...They won't hurt you, little one."
Comforting the small girl— the townsfolk cheered— throwing more sticks into the blazing fire.
Vladimir looks at the people in worry— a small portion of him to avenge the burning body— but there were too many people.
But his thoughts were interrupted when the girl suddenly released a bloodlust aura.
The count was surprised— no— he was shocked.
He never thought that a little girl— emit bloodlust.
"T-They... k-killed them..." She trembled until she calmed down, "I promised myself to find the ones who killed my parents..."
The little girl turns her head towards the count— a serious expression plastered on her face.
"And... I'll start by hunting vampires..."
A few years later— the two departed once the girl found her target.
The girl trained— perfecting her skill in using a crossbow and a long bayonet.
She honed her skill every day— only stopping when she needed to eat and rest— until one day—
She encountered her target.
Quickly pursuing her target— she hunted the vampire down.
It took her almost all of her stamina to hunt them— but she prevailed.
Taking her foe down.
A feeling of relief wash over her— and yet— there is this uneasy feeling lingering around her.
She dismissed this thought and traveled back to the town.
But—
She was met with a horrid sight.
The town was in flames— a silhouette of a man was seen in the middle of the burning town.
The girl approaches him— equipping her bayonet. The man turns— only to be met by his demise.
She looks around once more— the uneasy feeling coming back once more.
Revenge.
The only thing that she wanted for these people— and she'll find it by killing all of the vampire kind.
And she did.
A few more years have passed, the girl is now seen inside a church— cleaning her two weapons— a crossbow and a long bayonet.
The comfortable silence surrounded her— the only sound you'll hear is her humming.
A shift in the air cause that silence to halt— the curtains sway as the air shifted— as the now-closed window was suddenly opened.
She turns her head to see a silhouette of a man— standing in front of the altar.
He was wearing a familiar cloak.
And the girl noticed this.
She equipped both of her weapons— taking a stance in the process.
"Is that how you greet an old friend?" He turns around— revealing the man that carried her when she was younger.
"Y-You... Why? Why are you here now?!" Vladimir sadly looks down— surprising the young adult.
"I... had to keep my people in line." He sadly looks at the girl, "And... You're the one that's making my job... difficult."
She looks shocked— until something hits her, "You're... one of them? For all these years I thought you were just a normal person, who cheered me up and gave me hope."
The girl grits her teeth.
"But you lied to me!" The count only looks at her sadly.
"If you want to take revenge... You'll have to get stronger first." He turns his back towards her, "There are more powerful vampires than the ones you faced."
"Then, I'll prove my strength by killing you!" She let out a war cry— speeding across the room— lunging herself towards him.
But— he stopped her by holding her in place by an unknown force.
Her expression turned into a fearful one— she didn't know what to do— she couldn't move.
She tried to struggle— nothing happened.
She tried again— but nothing happened.
"If you really want to defeat me. Then you need to get stronger." The count looks at her with his ruby-red eyes, "This is for the best."
He walks towards the girl— trying to struggle but it proves to be futile.
Once he was in front of the girl— he opens his mouth— revealing his two sharp fangs.
The girl was frightened— she was in his mercy.
She closed her eyes— waiting for death— but it never came.
She was met with a soft and cold sensation on her lips.
The girl opens her eyes to see his cold red eyes— meeting her azure blue eyes.
He parted away— only to feel her consciousness weakening.
Until she was now asleep in the count's arms.
Vladimir looks at her sadly— letting her lay down on one of the church's benches before leaving.
"Until we meet again, little one."
