Where am I?

584 Words
As the clouds of fog cleared and my senses returned, I automatically felt like my body was on fire. The temperature around me was too hot and I felt a wave of heat surround my body as a strange fabric rubbed against my body. Where was I? Why do I feel so hot? My body was slow to respond to my thoughts as I questioned what I remembered. My memory felt strange as I couldn't remember who I was or where I came from or how I ended up feeling like I was surrounded by fire. This truely was annoying. As my sense of sound took in room, I noticed a number of people leave the room and clear out the air. My body relaxed slightly until I heard an explosion of words escape someones mouth. She seemed angry and my defences rose once more.  After a moment of anger, I realised that these words were not directed at me. My adrenaline pumping, I decided to open one eye and peer around the space I was in. The light was quite blinding but after two or three minutes I was able to observe a wooden room, filled with strange items. A bookshelf  was on the other side of the room, parallel from  the bed where the two women spoke. It was bright with different coloured binders, bringing some colour to the room. A wooden desk was next to the shelf and a cabinet next to the bed where they spoke.  Taking a moment to observe the women, it was near impossible to make out the one in the bed. White hair and pale skin that matches the sea foam was all he could observe but the other one was quite clear to see. She was short in height but held a great presence around her.  She had blonde hair and blue eyes and didn't look a day over thirty-five. She wore a white frock and reminded him of a motherly figure.  Deciding for a brief moment to feign sleep and take intel before making his escape,  he turned over and took in the rest of the room. Another cabinet was next to his bed with materials he could only guess were for wrapping wounds. Was this a place of healing? he wondered. As he settled into the space, he felt a hand on his wrist. Her skin was burning into his, placing him in an attack reflex. Within a moment he had managed to wrap his arm around her throat and shouted, "WHO ARE YOU!"  His voice felt hoarse and dry  shouting but it was now or never. Holding the nurse he continued by asking "WHERE AM I?" before placing his eyes on the girl with white hair.  Seeing her face, his memory seemed to take in her appearance and provide information. He felt comfort when looking into those ruby red eyes and a sense of kinship grew. His arm loosened on the other woman as he took in Willows appearance more. She looked older.... but how? How did he know her? Her face was all he recognised and a name that came with that. "Willow... is that you?" he asked. When hearing the other woman question their knowledge of each other, it was evident from Willows eyes that she had little to knowledge of their acquaintance. Why not? He thought.. why do we both not know? His mind was beginning to hurt as he scrambled for answers.  What kind of hell was this?
