The Night That Changed Everything

Two weeks passed swiftly.
Selene woke up that morning, acting lovely towards her husband. He knew there had to be something she had yet to say.
She cleared her throat, and finally said “I learned you have low sperm count. I want to believe you have your reasons for not telling me up until now, but that's not what I'm here to discuss”.
Sabastian looked at her scornfully. “I never tried to hide it, it was right there in plain sight, you just failed to see it” he told her.
Why else would the Hales give her almost all they had, if not to help them with the impossible.
“Well, like I said, I'm not having this discussion to point out rights and wrongs”
“I'll go through an intrauterine insemination procedure. I've spoken with someone who would help us with it. As soon as we get a sperm donor, I'll go for the procedure” Selene concluded
Sabastian looked at her, shocked!
When did his wife plan all of this?
Without his knowledge.
He was neither angry nor insulted. He was just so surprised at what he had just heard.
Selene pecked him and jumped out of bed. Got dressed and proceeded to go out, but suddenly paused.
Looked at her husband closely and said “Nobody must know about this, keep your lips tight”.
Sabastian wouldn't tell anyone.
He knows if he tries such, his face would be on the news the next minute. That would be him, giving the press what to talk about.
Selene made her way to her office.
And there he is, again!.
This time, even more attractive than ever.
Richard approached her, greeted her, and helped her with her Kelly bag.
They walked into her office. And as usual, Richard began to read out her schedule for the day.
Selene could barely hear what he was saying, her eyes were fixed on his body. She just nodded at all he said absentmindedly.
Richard noticed his boss was absent-minded, but he didn't want to point it out. He left after he was done with his duty. He let her enjoy whatever fantasy she was living in at that moment.
Hours passed like minutes.
It was such a long day.
Three different meetings with the clients, a board of stakeholders meeting which almost didn't end. Each one of them had something to say, since they had to adjust to the new CEO. Not to mention the endless stack of papers in her office.
Being a CEO is not all rosy, after all.
It was late in the night before she could say, Jack Robinson. The street lights penetrated through the walls of the building. It was such a beautiful view in Washington DC.
Exhausted, she strolled into the lobby and found Richard at the end of the lobby drinking water. He looked tired himself.
She stared at him until he gulped all the content in the cup down his throat. She desired him even more.
She walked up to him without thinking twice, seductively.
Grabbed him by his shirt as if she were intoxicated.
Their eyes locked. She looked at him as though he was a meal that needed to be consumed.
Richard looked at her, as desires filled his eyes. He tried to keep up just as her secretary, but this tension? He couldn't keep up with.
It's the first time, he would be so close to his ex-girlfriend in 5years.
He felt the way her heart pounded so fast like her chest was going to rip off.
He held her so tight.
She was lost in his eyes. The scent of her cologne overwhelmed him.
He was enjoying whatever was happening.
“Mrs Selene….” He tried to speak
But Selene shut him up with a kiss.
Unknown to Selene, Richard had been holding back ,from the moment he was assigned to her as her assistant.
They both saw that moment as an opportunity to unleash their desires.
He gave in and kissed her back.
Selene didn't expect he'd give in.
Since she was the one that cut things off between them.
She excitedly led him to her office.
Clothes scattered around.
They had a one-night stand in the office.
The office reeked of f*******n desires.
Selene teased her secretary “You've always been a bad boy”
“You’ve never been a good girl” , He teased back.
“You smell so good, I couldn't resist even if I wanted to”, He confessed.
Just when they thought they were having an endless moment, a call interrupted their fairytale.
It was Sabastian.
“s**t! It's past 10pm” she exclaimed
She answered her phone.
"I just wanted to check in, it's past your work hours” he said.
Not out of concern. Just out of obligation.
“I had a lot to deal with, I'll be home shorty” she replied and hung up.
“I guess you've got to go now” Richard jokingly whispered.
They got dressed.
Selene beeped her driver and got ready to leave.
She paused halfway through the door.
“You should go home now, before the walls spread the news, she said smiling at him.
“Sure thing" he responded.
After Selene left, Richard thought to himself “Such a sweet woman, I wish things never ended between us".
They satisfied their cravings, without knowing they just unleashed a looming doom.
