Chapter 3. The Drink Up (Continued)

1320 Words
Hope POV ---------------------- It was already 7 o'clock. And we had just arrived at James's front door. Without hesitation, the door swung open and Sasha and I were invited in with already drunken familiar faces from Uni. "I wish you hadn't made me wear this" I said, as I desperately tried to cover up my cleavage that was bouncing out of the top as I walked. I felt extremely self-conscious and had never worn something like this before. It felt too exposing. Sasha suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me further into the house, she led me through the overcrowded living room through to the kitchen. "Here, drink this", Sasha announced, handing me a shot glass of unknown clear liquid. I looked at the glass and looked back at her again. Impatiently, she placed the shot glass to my lips. Hurry, she signaled. I took in a deep breath and swallowed the clear liquid, it was straight vodka that made me cough immediately after consuming it. Sasha laughed and took her shot of vodka. "Relax, and have another. You look stunning, so don't hide yourself" she repeated, taking in another shot of vodka. I followed her lead and took another shot of vodka. I had already started feeling the effects of alcohol running through my blood stream. I felt less anxious and less self-conscious all of a sudden. You could tell I'm not someone that drinks often. "HEY" yelled out someone from the crowd. I peered over to see Chris. Chris was Sasha's ex-boyfriend. She and he were still sleeping together even though they had split up 3 months ago. I didn't like what they were doing and had previously expressed my concerns to her, but it was ultimately her choice. Chris grabbed Sasha by the waist and planted a deep kiss on her lips. "Hey Chris, I have a question. What do you think of Hope?" She replied, moving her head to look at me. Chris's eyes lit up and his mouth dropped. "Are you for real? Is that you Hope? Damn girl, I didn't know you could look like that", Chris asked teasingly. I suddenly couldn't help but blush at his reaction. Sasha nudged him in the side with her elbow. "Watch it" she replied with a frown. The music was suddenly turned up, notifying me that the party was now in full swing. I took in another shot of vodka before continuing to follow Sasha and Chris around. As we weaved through the crowds I felt hungry eyes gazing upon me almost like lions that were watching prey. Suddenly, I felt a hand slap my ass' cheek. "Excuse me!" I yelled, swinging around as fast as I could to see who dared to touch me inappropriately. "Sorry, that was an accident". A guy replied with a hungry grin. He immediately retracted his hand as soon as he took notice of Chris, who was peering angrily over my shoulder towards him. The guy left just as fast as he had slapped my ass. That is exactly why I hate attending any sort of drunken gatherings. Filthy males like that are ones to watch for. "Filthy pig", Sasha announced, screwing her face up. She grabbed hold of my hand and took the lead, leading us towards an empty couch and slumping down onto it. Finally, I could give my feet a rest. Sasha had me wearing a pair of her black wedges. I wasn't used to wearing shoes that were not flat on the ground. From here on we continued to drink and talk, my anxiety from the incident earlier washed away as we laughed and spoke about random stuff. Josh POV ---------------------------- I was sitting down in the living room listening to drunken Chase spout unbelievable made-up stories of his childhood to the noticeably bored Aston. Aston studies chemistry at Davandale. He also didn't have many friends, which is why he is sitting next to Chase. James made his way over with three opened bottles of whisky, handing chase and I one he sat himself down next to me. "Drink up", James said, taking a swig of his whisky. I looked at the bottle and without another thought I sculled the entire bottle and every last drop. Being a werewolf, it takes longer to feel the effects of alcohol. I would have to drink another 5 of these if I wanted to start feeling something. I got up from the couch and started to head towards the kitchen. "Where are you going? asked Chase as he peered over towards me with a sway. "To grab another drink" I replied, continuing my way to the kitchen. If I needed more drinks, the kitchen is where they would be. I opened the fully stocked fridge and took out 3 more bottles of whisky. Yes, that was all for me. If I'm going to get drunk, then I'm going to do it right. I made my way back to the couch where James, Chase and Aston were sitting. Fully expecting it to be just them, I found myself left surprised that they had some new company sitting on the couch across from them. I sat down next to James and cracked open a whisky. As I was just about to take a sip, my nose filled with a familiar smell from the other day, one that is so intriguing it has me wondering. I glared towards the culprit who was releasing such an enticing vanilla scent and found that she looked completely different compared to the other day when I spotted her reading a book. She was sitting next to a red-headed girl who was accompanied by a male. She didn't look too bad. In fact, she looked like someone I'd want to make mine almost immediately. Her blonde hair was brushed into soft curls, and she wore light makeup that empathized her glistening emerald eyes. lowering my eyes, I took note that she had ditched the oversize clothes she was previously wearing and took on something a little more ravishing. she was showing all the right curves. It almost made me drool. I reversed my eyes before anyone took notice that I was checking her out, I sculled the whiskey that I had been holding onto and stood up . "I'm going to check out the pool table". I announced, turning my head away. "But you only just sat down", James stated with a confused look plastered on his face. I looked back at James and gave him a hidden smirk whilst using my eyes to point towards the girl that I'd just been drooling over. James quickly understood and got up to follow me. Of course, he would have questions, but so do I. I wanted to find out more about that girl and James would be the one to ask. Chase was too busy chatting to even take notice. He'd be fine without me anyway, seeming as though he was drunk. As we made clear of the living room, I turned to face James as we continued to walk towards the pool table that was outside. "Who is that blondie that was sitting across from us? I asked. "Who... Hope? he replied, grabbing two billiards that were hung up on the wall nearby. Hearing her name felt like it was driving me insane. In a good but also a bad way. I felt like I was about to go crazy. Why was I feeling this way? She was nothing but an ordinary nerd. But there was something about her that made me go mad. I wanted to make her mine. "What's this all of a sudden? James asked as he chalked up his cue tip. "Just Interested", I replied, waiting for him to pass over the chalk. Everyone outside began to gather around to watch on drunkenly. I loved playing pool. It was good to pass the time.
