We drove to the D’Amico mansion after Marco’s release. He signed an undertaking to assist the FBI in the mission to save his head and also witness the fall of the Lucchese’s
“You have to clean up properly. "Your face looks like it just underwent surgery”, James said to Marco sarcastically.
“Stronzo! Thanks to a certain person,” Marco spat “Mafias get beaten up all the time, so it’s no issue”
“I guess you weren’t so big after all… Your men should be the ones getting beaten up you know.”
I laughed.. I was enjoying this little back and forth.
As we got into the mansion, about fifteen guards, all in suits, came to welcome their boss home. They all stood in front of us and robotically bowed down to Marco. He gestured to them to rise without uttering a word as they gave us room to pass

We got into the house and it was a sight. These mafias sure had the money. I got a little excited that I was going to fake marry the richest Mafia. I mean, if Marco’s was beneath the Lucchese’s was like this, I can imagine what theirs would be like. I would surely drool.
“Caro signore! Oh IL mio povero bambino!” his wife cried, running to where her husband was
“Look what they did to your handsome face!” She shrieked in disbelief. “We’ll make you pay for this, you bastard!” She yelled in what sounded like a mixture of anger and frustration.
“Save it, Valentina, you should be happy you even have the opportunity to see your husband” I retorted
She huffed
“I’m fine tesoro, I’m home now” he kissed her on the forehead.
I rolled my eyes in disgust. Sure they were capable of love and I was going to crawl myself into Reinardo’s heart
I smiled
“Make us tea tesoro,” Marco told his wife
“Oh please no, there’s no time for that. We will be coming here in 2 days and by then, you should have concluded with Alaric. Aurora will be coming here, so we can start the game” James explained
“Yes.. I should be able to sort it out by then” Marco replied
“Sort what out?” Valentina asked in confusion
“Miss Aurora here will be acting as our daughter Giovanna to marry Reinardo to take the Lucchese down” Marco explained to his wife
“What does Giovanna have to do with this Marco?” Valentina asked, annoyance visible on the lines of her soft face
“You don’t know what we’ve done for your stupid family right? How dare you even act upset?” I asked getting even more upset
“I am doing the whole work while you guys would just smile, wave your hands as my parents like a f*****g royalty.
No, you don’t get the chance to complain or your Bambino will be back in jail!” I said, my patience was wearing thin already
Valentina uttered no word as she burst into tears. I rolled my eyes, dimwit!
“That’s enough now please, She wasn’t aware of the plan. Please be a little patient” Marco pleaded
“Yeah, of course, she’s going to be my mother so we'd better start forming the bond” I smirked
Valentina rolled her eyes as her body tensed and I saw how worried she was.
She feared this plan and to be honest, I did too but my life was already used to deceit. I do it saw well like I’m marinated in the web of lies.
“Enough chit chat already.. Let’s go on” James said nonchalantly
“You’d have to change your look to appear like Giovanna” Valentina spoke
“Huh?” I asked confused
“My daughter is soft and sweet, you’d have to start acting like that. She is graceful and kind. She’s a very soft girl” Valentina explained.
“Emphasis on soft Aurora” Marco added.
“What do guys mean? That I’m not soft?” I asked, looking confused.
“Are you? "Honey?” Matteo spoke from the first time since we got here with sarcasm in his eyes
“I mean, I could be rough around the edges, but that’s because of my job. I’m a lady too and I can also be graceful” I said, patting myself confidently.
James suddenly chuckled as everyone shifted in their seats, trying to avoid looking at me
“Guys! "Really now?” I called, my head tilting to the side.
“No one said anything Aurora,” Matteo said, trying to suppress his laugh.
“Ugh, whatever!” I gave up.
