It was more tiring for Alex now, he was getting slow by each step. He had to reach somewhere but that wasn't looking possible for him. Alex still was not going to give up. It was the experience of the final years of his past that he had learned not to give up in any situation, though that those situations were dissimilar to this one, the spirit was the same. Moving with the same spirit, Alex had almost been walking for 2 hours now, and still, he couldn't any destination or any route to it. The day ended and next started and he was on a rockier surface with some thin kind of plants emerging from some rocks. Another hope Alex had was this cloth and that guy, he had been given this so that meant that it will be adequate for this journey and his supplies will be enough for him till the end and it sounded great in theory but not that great in practice. He kept moving with deceleration and finally the night came up. Unfortunately, he was not given any source of lighting up a fire but he was warm enough in that cloth, there could be anything wild around him but he was too tired to worry about that and slept close to a rock on the rocky hard surface.
He got up just after the sunrise, though he didn't have any interest in this place, he was fascinated by this glorious morning serene. This added a good start to his day and he ate 2 apples as breakfast and started to move on the ascend. The same food every day was not too appreciated by his tongue but it was good for the rest of his body so he had to be happy with what he had. Moving towards east, the route was changing very quickly now, from a barren land to a forest-like environment with a slight ascend, he was sure to have plenty of surprises on the way.
His next 2 days were the same, moving from sunrise to sunset, resting in the rest. Eating apples or anything he could find on trees of this mid-forest kind of terrain. He saw some maleos flying just above him and also found a Pygmy Tasier on a tree, he just hoped that he wouldn't bump into some tiger or anything worse, could anything be worse than a tiger? he wondered, maybe a gorilla or a Komodo Dragon, Alex supposed, but he should live on this hope, that was all he could do right now.
The 3rd day was a lot different, 2 hours from dawn and the ground underneath his feet was covered in wild grass, the path more leveled than elevated. Alex had not lost his anticipation all this time and he was determined to give it all he had, but that changed as he had a new ordeal which had a greater probability of failure. His path had been the same all his journey but now he came to a trifurcation and each looked the same as the other, the same grass extended to all of them and even the sizes of them were the same as the other and now he was given a choice of 3 destinations which were as compelling as the other one, right, left, or center? he had never experienced a situation like this before. This mental trial was far more difficult and dangerous than the latter. He sat down on a small rock to make the correct decision.
Assessing them from this far was doing no good so he decided to examine them by going into each and it also did no good. They were identical in every sense Alex could see and this situation. Alex sat there and wondered that what he was going to do, perhaps, for now, it was a nap.
Waking up after a dreamless nap, Alex was determined to make his decision because he didn't have resources to stay in one place for too long. "Where should I go?" he asked himself for the hundredth time, he had three identical paths in front of him one was in the north, one in the east and the last one south and then it struck him, Alex had to go towards the east so this was just the simple answer to this problem which took him a whole day to solve, sometimes only the most obvious things are the most hidden ones, he supposed, and again slept at the same position as there was almost no light to guide him forward, he slept in peace.
