Chapter 7

"No! Stop the car! I don't need your help! Let go!" Gina exclaimed, desperately attempting to open the door, but it remained locked due to Asher's child lock. He lifted her chin with a finger, compelling to meet his gaze. "Let me go! I beg you!" Gina trembled in fear, the aura of the man before her instilling a terror that gripped her very soul.

"Let you go? No! Never!" Asher growled, pulling her closer and kissing the mark on her neck.

"What are you doing, you pervert?! Don't touch me!" Gina protested, pushing him away.

"MINE!" Asher's eyes darkened once more, his wolf asserting dominance.

"AAAHHHHH!" Gina cried out as a sharp pain coursed through her neck, her vision blurring until she succumbed to unconsciousness.

"f**k! What happened?" Asher panicked, cradling Gina gently in his arms. After years of emotional desolation following the death of his beloved Luna, he found himself revealing a softer side.

"How is she?" Asher inquired of the doctor.

"She is fine! It seems Luna fainted due to the sudden surge of memories from the past. She will recover, but remember, her body is fragile, akin to a human's, since she has yet to awaken her powers. Exercise caution with her," the doctor informed him.

Asher nodded; Tia was one of the finest doctors and wizards in his pack. Under his orders, she had dwelled in the human realm to learn about human medicine and treatments.

"When will she regain consciousness?" Asher asked, his expression cold.

"Soon! Luna will awaken shortly, but I advise you to proceed slowly with her; she is delicate and vulnerable," Tia suggested.

"It is better that she is weak. I want you to provide me with a formula to suppress her powers," Asher stated bluntly.

"Huh! But Alpha, you are aware of the side effects," Tia gasped.

"Do as I command!" Asher roared.

"Very well, Alpha, but please do not hold me responsible for the consequences," Tia replied. Asher nodded, his glare fixed on Gina, who lay peacefully asleep.

"She is not your Luna! She forfeited that title when she betrayed us long ago. She exists solely to appease my wolf; her worth is nothing more than that," Asher snapped. Tia departed, left speechless, her gaze lingering on the innocent figure resting on the bed with pity.

"Administer these supplements to her, and I will prepare the formula you requested shortly," Tia said, handing him the medication. After bowing her head, she took her leave.

Asher settled beside Gina on the bed, tenderly caressing her beautiful face. "She looks so lovely, just as she did in the past. But I will not allow your beauty to deceive me again. I made the mistake of loving you once, but not again—Asher Knight never repeats the same error," he whispered to his wolf within.

"Buddy! She is our mate; please don't hurt her this time," Alexius, his wolf, pleaded.

Asher was taken aback; after all these years, he had addressed him as "buddy." Following Gina's departure, Alexius had grown cold towards Asher, becoming rebellious, which troubled him. Yet, it seemed that Gina's return was mending the bond between them.

"Asher! You know how much we suffered when she left us. Every full moon night was a torment. We faced death with each passing moon! I implore you, do not hurt her. If she leaves us again, we will perish. We have been fortunate to survive without our mate for so long, but I cannot guarantee that will continue. I can feel our curse breaking. Forget the past and let us start anew," Alexius begged.

"No! That will not happen. I remember how she betrayed us. She cheated on me with her wretched lover, and because of her, I lost my own pup! I will never forgive her, let alone love her. She is with us only to keep you sane. She must suffer for her treachery," Asher gritted his teeth.

"Asher! I understand that what she did was wrong, but you were not blameless either. You never made her feel loved. You never treated her as your mate, your other half. You humiliated her at every opportunity, and let us not forget that you cheated on her first—countless times," Alexius retorted.

"So what? I am the Alpha King; I have my own needs," Asher replied dismissively.

"That is absurd! Asher, you are fortunate to have another chance! You are being ungrateful. Look at Jaydon; he lost his mate but never betrayed her. He still waits for her, and who knows if he will ever be reunited with her! You should learn to respect your mate," Alexius scolded.

"Shut up, you bastard!" Asher snapped, and suddenly, his body ignited with pain.

"f**k! The curse! It's returning; my body is ablaze," Asher gritted out, groaning in agony. Alexius fell silent as the curse weakened Asher’s wolf. All he could hear was the whimper of his wolf in his mind.

"f**k! It burns like hell," Asher groaned, writhing in pain. The sounds of his suffering roused Gina from her unconsciousness. She blinked, staring at her unfamiliar surroundings in disbelief, utterly bewildered as to how she had ended up here.

"Aarrghhhhh!! It's burning!!!" Asher screamed, tugging at his hair like a der individual. Gina, frightened by his cries, hurriedly climbed out of bed. "Are you alright?!" she asked, face etched with concern. "It's burning!! Damn it! It's all your fault, you witch!" Asher cursed, gripping her hand tightly.

"No I didn't do anything! Let me go!" Gina pleaded, struggling to free herself from his grasp. Asher stared at Gina in disbelief, his pain beginning to fade. "Mate!" he whispered.

"Let me go! Please, I want to go home. You're scaring me," Gina sobbed. Asher wiped her tears away with his thumb and smirked, "I am your home from now on! There's no going back." He gripped her hair firmly and crashed his rough lips against her soft ones, kissing her fiercely. Gina attempted to push against his imposing frame that pressed against her petite body, but her efforts were in vain.
