Chapter 3: Opportunities

When I found out that the Winston Hotel is looking for a new partner, I jumped at the opportunity. My previous partners were thieves, selling the hotel out from under me, and keeping the shares to themselves. I couldn't believe it. We were friends for 15 years, 15 long years that I wasted with those people. Do you know what they said when they got caught? "It's business buddy, we needed the money. See you next week for the game?" I couldn't even believe my ears. No remorse, not even an ounce of feeling like they f****d up. So after that sh*t show, I went back to job hunting and saw that The Rosemary Valentino need a new partner. Her deceased uncle left her the hotel. They were partners for quite some time. So I sent in my information, not long after I got a call from her assistant asking me to come in for an interview. I never had an idea of what Rosemary looks like, so the lady I cussed out in the coffee shop, I thought that was just some random woman. But her kid, she has some guts. Scolding me for talking like that to her mother. When I went for my interview and saw the lady from the coffee shop enter the office, my heart almost stood still. But I couldn't let her know that, so i played it cool. Telling her all the facts that she would need to know to hire me. But she caught me off guard when se said to go with a trial run. I could've told her to go to hell, but I need the job and I want to work here. This hotel is everything I would want mine to be.

During lunch I went to look for Rosemary to see if she needed anything else from me. I finished all the other work given to me.

I walk down the hallway to her office when I see the little girl run off into the room with her mother still standing outside, I sneak up behind her and say in a low deep voice "She's a cute one" I see her jump a little at the sudden voice behind her. "Yeah she is" she says curtly and starts to walk away, I follow her until she stops at the door frame and spins around " Is there something I can help you with Mr Richards?" she says with a slight annoyance in her tone. "Mrs Valentino, there is no need for such formalities. Please, call me Zack" I say with a grin pulling at my lips. "Alright, firstly, it's not Mrs anymore. its Ms now. Secondly you can still call me Ms Valentino, and I'll stick with Mr Richards. We are in the office, working" she says with a straight face, turning around and slamming the door shut in my face. Next thing I hear is her mocking me "Take that Mr I think I'm so smooth"

I let out a soft chuckle before walking away.

After a long day of hard work, i leave the hotel to go home. Only to be stopped by Rosemary and her daughter "Done for the day?" she asks pulling her daughter closer to her side. "Yeah, finish all my meetings

with Jolene" she looks at me for a few seconds before answering, "Alright, well good luck and enjoy. See you tomorrow Mr Richards" with a small wave and smile she and her daughter walks off.

I enter my apartment only to find a little unwelcomed surprise waiting for me on my living room couch. "Well hello there Zacky" Jessica says seductively. "Jessica, what're you doing here" I say giving her a tight smile. " Well baby, I said I'd surprise you tonight. So here I am, waiting for you, all naked and ready" Someone please help me. "I told you to never come here again, we're over. How the h*ll did you even get in here?"

"Well, obviously with the spare keys that you gave me darling" she says with a sweet smile, getting off the couch and walking up to me. She puts her hands on my shoulders to message me, but I grab her hands and push her to the bathroom. I pick up her clothes and throw them at her. "Please get dressed and get the f**k out, and leave the keys on the counter on your way out 'darling' " She walks to the bathroom, gets dressed and throws the keys on the counter. "You'll regret ever playing with me Zack" with that she walks out of my apartment.
