THE KINGS CHOICE

CHAPTER TWO {THE RIGHT CHOICE'S ARE ALWAYS THE HARDEST TO MAKE}

The news of the king taking a fourth wife had spread throughout the five kingdoms including the neighboring villages.

katherine and her friend Sanya were returning from the village square where they had gone to purchase goods.

"You know Katherine,I have been thinking" she looked around to be sure no one was close enough to listen to their conversation.

"what if the king was actually the problem" Katherine who was shocked at her statement suddenly covered her friends mouth with her hands.

"Hey! are you trying to get yourself killed,how can you say that" Katherine shocked at her friends utterances uncovered her friends mouth.

"But what if that's the truth..okay what if the fourth one doesn't give him a son" Sanya scoffed as her eyes wandered around to be sure no one was listening.

"Tsk tsk tsk,I hope your mouth doesn't put you in trouble one day. "anyways can we stop talking about the king,you know the saying walls have ears".

Sanya giggled."yea I know that and I'll keep shut" she said as she used her hands to hold her lips together.

"So Katherine about your betrothed, don't you think you are not meant for him? you have no idea how much I hate him".

"Sanya I also do and everyday of my life I pray that the wedding doesn't hold,I cannot deal with his pride it appaling". Katherine shivered at the thought of her betrothed touching her.

Don't worry the heavens would answer your prayers" Sanya giggled giving her a tug with her hands.

"Now can we hurry home,my mother would kill me if I don't make it on time". Katherine replied with a smile as they both held each other's hands and ran back home.

king Derek who looked so glorious seated on his throne was attending to his nobles as gauis the priest walked in with his staff on his right hand.

He wore a white robe with different colors of beads around his neck and hands,which depicted his position as royal high priest.

"Greetings,your majesty I come with good news" he said smiling as he held on to his staff for support.

"What! Such insolence,how dare you walk into our gathering like that? and even if you have no respect for the council, shouldn't you atleast respect the king"

Cyrus thundered as he spoke the words with hatred for the priest gauis wasn't surprised,he and the old minister had not been in good terms.

"tsk, I am sure you know who I am Cyrus" gauis scoffed as he continued "I could easily cast a spell on you and turn you into a cockroach I hope you know that ".

"How dare you! you surely have crossed the line Cyrus fired getting up and in no time he was holding the priest cloths wrapping his fist into a ball and was about to punch gauis but was stopped by their king's authoritative voice.

"Enough you two", his voice was calm but it held so much power and command,hearing his voice Cyrus released gauis and returned back to his seat giving his opponent the "i'll kill you" type of look which didn't bother gauis.

"Collins,escort gaius to my meeting room,let him wait for me" he instructed as he signaled for Collins to take gauis.

Gauis bowed his head in respect as he made his way to the king's meeting room were he sat waiting for the king.

It didn't take long before the door to the meeting room opened and Derek walked in majestically with both hands behind his back and a face that looked pale from lack of sleep.

"I think you should try and get some sleep, it's all so visible" he said as he stood for Derek to sit before taking his seat.

"What news do you have for me gauis? Derek inquired looking at the man who was already getting old,he wondered who would become the next priest when he dies.

"Well,the maid we are looking for is.." just then Collin came in to announce that someone was at the door.

"Who is it" Derek asked "it's one of the maids,I asked her to bring wine for you and the priest I am deeply sorry for interrupting your discussion".Collins apologized.

"It's fine Collins,let her in". Collins stood as he headed for the door and ushered Katherine in...Katherine walked in looking so nervous,it was the first time she was serving the king as she approached him.

The tension became worse as she almost fell, Derek didn't notice as his gaze were fixed on Gaius.

"Your royal majesty" she greeted as she went on to serve them, she bowed her head and left their presence.

As the door closed behind her gaius didn't waste any more time as he continued with what he was saying.

Gaius leaned forward as he tried not to be so loud "that is the girl your majesty" .

Derek rested his head on the huge chair in the meeting room,looking into empty space.

"I have thought about it and have come to a conclusion" Derek stated "and that is" gauis asked.

"I will first lay with the girl in question and if she gets pregnant,I will marry her until then this will remain between us gauis".

"You really are no different from your father,just like old times" gauis said.

Derek taking note of what he had just said inquired "what do you mean gauis?"

"It's just a complement your majesty,anyways you can trust me on this your majesty,she was destined for this".

Gauis said as he stood up to leave but stopped abruptly,he turned to face the king. "whatever plan or decision you have in mind,I would suggest you make it fast" he said as he walked out.

king Derek remained at the window for a while thinking about what gauis had said.

"Your majesty queen Matilda is here".Collin's announced as he jolted out of his thoughts,the door to his bedroom opened and Matilda walked in majestically.

She had visited Arram a witch doctor from the neighboring village who had given her concussion to take in other for her to bare a child.

It was her turn to be with the king so she had prepared for their meeting,she was going to bare a son at all cost.

"Your majesty" she said as she approached him "Matilda not tonight,I am not in the mood" he said as he turned to face her.

"But I am supposed to lay with you tonight" she said pretending to be sad, "Matilda I am too tired to even sleep" he stated as he strode to take his sit.

Matilda saw this as an opportunity and walked up to him,went on her knees and started untying his breeches,he held her hand in a bid to stop her.

"Allow me calm your nerves your majesty" she pleaded as she removed his hands and continued with what she was doing,he gave up trying to stop her.

Matilda was happy as he gave in to her,she removed his breeches and did what she had come for.

Their session went on for a while with Matilda being in charge,soon the king took over as he carried her to his huge bed and found pleasure taking her.

Derek fell on her back as his release found its way into her body,His breathing that was rapid few minutes ago became calm as he moved away from her body and found his way to his bathroom to clean up.

Matilda who was satisfied stood up,undressed completely and layed on his bed, "there is no way I wouldn't be having a son after this wonderful session I had with the king" she giggled as she used the bedcover to cover up her body waiting for the king.

The cool water poured down his face as he opened the tap,memories of what happened came flooding his head as he smiled to himself.

Matilda had always been the woman for him though she had her flaws but what amuses him is the way she handles him.

She knew about his high s****l drive and she knew just how to please him,it could probably be because she had been used as a s*x slave that makes her unique.

He thought as the water rushed down his body, making him feel refreshed.

Switching off the tap he headed back for his bedroom but she had already fallen asleep,he took off his towel and layed next to her enveloping her exposed body with his and soon sleep found him.

It was late afternoon when Matilda woke up but couldn't find the king next to her , "Collins" she called," he is with the king in the meeting hall" one of the guard answered."

Remembering the activity of the previous night,she smiled to her self "I hope this works because I need to have a son at all cost" she thought as she smiled rubbing her tummy.

By the time the king returned to his bedroom she was no where to be found."she is really a sneaky one" he muttered to himself.

"Your majesty" Collin said as he walked in, "I have sent for the girl".

"Alright when she comes,I do not want to be disturbed by anyone" Derek commanded as he excused him.

Katherine was surprised to see Collins the king's guard approach her,at first she had thought he liked her.

Remembering how he would always steal glances at her she smiled to herself, "sir Collins she bowed" thinking of what to tell him if he asked her out.

She didn't even realize her face has turned red,her friend who also worked with her at the palace would always tell her that she liked him but she keeps denying it.

And when he had come to her asking her to bring wine for Gaius she couldn't believe it,there were dozens of maids who attend to his Majesty why would he want her to attend to him.

At some point she had wished he would keep coming to her.

"How come you like a guard over a nobles son" her friend tamera had asked her when she caught her staring at the guard.

"I don't like him" she had lied trying to cover up,but as tamera brought up the idea she started thinking about the possibility of them being together.

"The king request to see you in his chambers and I would suggest you leave whatever you are doing and go to him" he said and headed back to the palace.

"What have you done Kathy? tamera inquired from her friend.

"I think you should go and answer him,you don't want to keep his Majesty waiting" she said with a worried look.

"I..i didn't do anything wrong tamera,I'll be right back" Katherine with a confuse look spoke as she raised her dress up in other for her not to fall and hurriedly went to the king's chambers.

As she made her way to his bedroom she found Collins standing at the entrance, "the king is in his study" Collins opened the door.

She wanted to talk to him but he didn't give her the chance to instead he opened the king's door and gestured for her to go in.

Turning to look at him,he had no expression on his face instead he closed the door behind her.

As she walked further into his chambers she saw him in his study he was so focused on what he was doing.

He didn't turn until he was done with a particular scroll, which he put aside and raised his head to face her.

"You must be Katherine?he didn't wait for her to reply "I have an offer for you Katherine,I am sure you are aware of my struggle to bare a son and how time is no longer on my side" he started as he studied the concerned look on her face.

"I know your father is a peasant,I will promote him to a noble and make sure your family is respected in the entire kingdoms".

Katherine thought within her wondering why he wants to help your family and what was the price to pay.

He paused and surveyed her for a bit before he continued, "you are not a child anymore,so I don't need to beat around the bush" he continued "all you need to do is bare me a son".

Katherine couldn't believe her ears as she raised her head to look at him,that was the closest she had seen him as his eyes never left her body.

"By the heavens I thought I did something wrong,but this was the least of what I expected" she thought within her.

"But your majesty I am nothing but an ordinary maid,I am not worthy to carry a royal blood in me" she said as she bent her head .

"I am not asking you if you are worthy or not,my question is are you willing to take the offer?" he was already getting angry at himself for what he was doing.

She had heard rumors that their king was not whom he presented himself to be,she cared less as this was a lifetime opportunity for her.

This was the perfect chance to get away from adrian if she successfully gets pregnant for the king,Adrian wouldn't be able to do anything.

She thought within her and besides he was the king she couldn't say no to him,so she agreed to his terms not because of what he was offering but because she wanted to get away from adrian.

The king strode towards her,standing right next to her he held her jaw and raised her head to face him,her blue eyes were so beautiful that he almost drowned himself in them.

She wasn't a tall woman which made derek bend his head in other to kiss her,she never expected it as it came as a shock to her.

That was her first kiss,to her it was magical but to the king it was a taboo.

He had no choice as he carried her and sat her on his table in other for them to be of same height and for him not to strain himself.

He delved into her mouth tasting every corners,she felt embarrassed and at a point she wanted to stop after remembering what her mother had always told her about keeping her body for her husband.

Katherine felt a warm sensation as the feeling felt so weird,she always heard her married friends talk about kissing.

"Is this what tiara meant by it feeling good" she wondered as the king delved into her mouth.

The king undressing her,brought her out of her thoughts.

As he removed the hem of her dress,completely revealing her beautiful body he began to wonder how a commoner could have such clear and beautiful skin.

He soon carried her into his bedroom, laying her on his bed,he undressed himself and came back to fulfil his duty.

A scream tore from her mouth as the pain was too much for her "please your majesty,it hurts" she said as tears began flowing down her eyes.

Seeing her in pain,he kissed her forehead reassuring her that she was going to be fine and that soon the pains would go away.

The pain was unimaginable as Katherine cried using her hands to cover her mouth,he was huge and she knew it.

Their sinful escapade came to an end as he withdrew from her and held her so close to his body saying soothing words to ease her pains.

"I know it hurts and I am sorry for hurting you" Katherine felt her whole world crumbling after what had happened.

She remembered how vanora had taught them about the consummation process and the procedure,she never mentioned how painful it was going to be.

Vanora has been teaching her and other young girls who were also betrothed,her job was to educate them about the consummation rites after their marriage.

To her she had disobeyed her parents and gone contrary to the laws of the land,what if she bares a daughter would the king still accept her.

She thought as she drifted off to sleep,he noticed her sobbing had stopped and was replaced with the slow rise and fall of her chest on his body.

Derek felt pressed and needed to shower so he layed her head on the pillow.

Getting up he noticed that she had a mole beside her nose,it made her look beautiful.

He used the toilet and returned to his study room to continue with his work,he still found it hard to believe that he was going to be the first king to break the law.

Something his father had tried so hard to avoid,thinking about this made him remember his past.

He pushed the thought at the back of his mind "that was the past,and this is the future, he thought as he continued with his work.
