Surprise of the day.

Driving past the coffee shop, Richard finds Agni looking down holding onto her things looks rather tense. He opens the door and calls her name out to which she looks up and starts sprinting towards the car.

When she is about to enter the vehicle " Are you ok dear, what happened you look upset?" Richard  extremely worried as to he has never seen her be this way before. He waits for her reply with the door of the car open and leans towards the car.

" I am fine Richard, Seems like I am not feeling very well. I will finish this work at home, can we leave please?" Pulling the door to close it I shrugged and just sat there closing my eye just to make this time disappear.

Richard walks back to the drivers seat, starts the car and looking ahead " Unfortunately, I cant take you home now dear, Rhea has asked me to drop you off at her house, She said she called you twice".

Frantically I search my phone which I dropped on the seat and yes of course she has called me. "Oh God why is this such a disaster? My head hurts, I feel like I need to just lay down. 

Rhea Gill, A rich spoilt brat. I met her during a conference at Gill enterprise. She is the daughter of the business Magnet. My father works for her father and so I got an opportunity to step into such a big establishment.

Very distinctly I remember. waking up in the morning without an alarm as i was so excited I could hardly sleep the night before. I have ironed my red long skirt and white shirt.

 I had my presentation ready, at the time I didn't have a laptop and so I had to print all the content at the library and then set u a file. I was extremely confident that my work will speak I didn't need a fancy laptop.

"eat something, or else you will not have the energy to give your presentation" cautioned my mom.

"I am too excited to eat anything, I will just drink some milk and pack a sandwich for me please" Looking at my mom with puppy dog eyes, which works every time. I start sorting everything at the table. Doin my checks.

Kissing my cheek " All the best" Mom places the sandwich in a zip lock bag and hand a warn cup of milk.

"All the best my baby" Walking out I feel confident, what can go wrong I have all the fact with me I just have to talk loudly and have my answers ready.

Gill enterprise is venturing into a project of protecting the planet and wants volunteers to provide a robust plan to put millions into the project. If selected a team will be created who will lead and also one day can be full time employee in the company.

I want that, I want it all why should I like like a commoner all my life, I have seen how these rich people live and I would not lie I think this is not fair that I have to work hard for scraps and these people get most of the things free, Just because they have made a name for themselves, or their family was rich.

Anyway, I am deviating from the topic, we were taking about Rhea. I reached Gill Enterprise. It the most extravagant interiors that I have ever seen. The building comes with 20 floors, replete with extra-high ceilings. Every floor is the same height of an average two-storied building.

 When you walk in you see stunning while marble with gold accents and lifts. Each person gets to sit in a separate waiting area that is very well lit with at least 5 different lamps lighting the place. 

I employees look so sharp well dressed and beautiful. While i was waiting for my turn to be called, I looked down on my feet and my footwear looks worn out and old, the light is this place is so bright that all the imperfections are just so visible. 

"Oh, no I need to fix this". 

Walking past the receptionist who totally ignored me, I saw the restroom sign on my left and started walking quickly before anybody could notice how shabby I was.

Walking though I noticed most of the picture frames had a very common face. Thinking nothing of it I ran towards the sink which was turquoise blue.

The whole room had a theme, The sinks were shell shaped, Golden fixtures a huge chandelier. Big vase filled with red roses and the floor was marble with hint of gold.

All this was so extra, I had never seen any place so beautiful and that too this was a restroom.

As I walked in further I noticed a girl crouched hugging her legs was crying. She clearly was from the upper class, she had well done hair curled to perfection. The dress she was wearing had sequence but not in a tacky way. 

Hermes sandals, Gold watch she looked amazing. I walk towards her slowly not to inward her personal space " Are you ok?" She looks up.

The Mascara running down her face, she looks like she has had work done on her face to look young, lips done her cheeks filled. 

"I am fine, just need some alone time" Rhea rudely replies not to draw more attention from the stranger.

I placed my file down and kneeled in front of her offered some tissue, she grabbed them and started rubbings the tears off. " I am sorry, I dint mean to be rude. Its just a bad day."

"Tell me about it, we wall have those days you know" Handing the used tissues back to me Rhea nods.

Her eye glare looking at my file, "Are you here for the conference? , Please say yes" insists Rhea, holding my hand in her palms.

"Yes, I am here for the conference, I applied a few moths ago, I cant believe they selected me. Are you nervous because of the presentation? Don't be" Comforting her I lead her to the chair that was available.

"Do you have a friend that can help you? because I need to go they might call my name any time now, Take care" touching her hand to comfort her, Rhea held on to my hand and said " Unless I use your presentation and I will pay you for your trouble"

"I am sorry, I need this job. You look like a person who is self sufficient or maybe your parents or husband". I pulled my hand back without looking back walked out and sat back in my waiting area amazed at how that girl was ready to take my presentation. 

"I will pay for your trouble" I scoffed.

I looked up to see the same girl talking to the receptionist, they agree on something and she walks past me with a grin on her face.

Scared of the outcome I waited for my turn, my stomach churning from excited I was completely nervous now, you could see it in my face.

The receptionist calls me and directs me to the right, I notice it was not an office. Its actually the smoothie bar and its the same girl waiting there for me. 

Handing a smoothing with my name written on it she offers for me to sit with her. I was completely annoyed, I rejected her offer "If you want my file that's not happening, If you cant offer me the amount a three year intern gets paid here, I don't even want to hear you".

I felt that I have said my piece and she will leave me alone. I turned back where she insisted I stay for a minute. " Look, I am sorry I didn't mean to irritate you, you were good enough to help in out there earlier. My name is Rhea, Rhea Gill I am the daughter of the famous Gill. This is my fathers business" She smiled.

I was stunned, actually in shock my father had never spoken about her before, Mr Gill has a daughter named Sheel, who is this imposter. 

Looking at my confused face, Rhea immediately confessed  "STEP- daughter" Nodding her head, she smiles.

"Look I am sorry, I have to go"!

Grabbing my hand she pulls me to the wall art that i has seen before, " These are my photos, Dad and I just have started working on building a stable relationship. He always thought of me as a spoilt child and distanced me, I would like to gain his trust and be a better daughter. 

In a submissive tone she explains "I promised him i will work on the project, but the person whom I had paid to do the work just didn't show up and I have nothing to show for."

"Please help me with this I promise I will repay you" Joining her hand she pleads.

"Look, I am not sure about this .Even I have to answer my dad" I explained.

"Please ,I will not disappoint you. Help me with this and I will pay you back with more"

I caved I couldn't say no anymore, So I handed my file to her. She asked me in a surprised tone, "Why are you using a file and not a laptop?"

In  a sarcastic tone I had to reply  "Doll, not all are born with a golden spoon!! and continued to drink my smoothie.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to offend ,But don't you think it will take some time to upload all of this online?" Looking confused she was expecting me to come up with a solution.

"Listen, you can use my file. Just say that this is used with the paper that was already available and will be stored for future reference and I just wanted to show how we can reduce our carbon foot print and use all the resources already available." Winked at her with a smile.

"brilliant, Lets go through this and please, please accompany me if they have any questions, It would be difficult to Handle, Here take my watch as collateral" Quickly starts removing her watch and places it in mine. I hand it back to her and explain " I don't need anything now, just keep you promise"

Pressing my hand against her " I will. trust you me ,I will".

So we start working on the key points that she had to talk about. I was also available with her in the conference. The VIP access was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming, I mean I could get used to this life style.

When we started the presentation MR. Gill himself come to the conference room to watch Rhea's work, Mr. Gill has an aura , when he enters the room you can definitely feel his  presence .All the staff greet him, Some running around to get him fresh water, snacks. They ask for his preference in the light if they had to adjust the lighting. By just raising his hand he signals to his secretary to who says " Everything is fine, just start the slides"

Rhea, Starts he presentation slow but when when he encouraged her "It's ok, you are doing good". She really got the confidence and I pitched in. She kept on a brave front and was quite confident. . He asked me a few questions himself and almost after 2 hours It was all done.

He had a smile on his face and just like that the lights were switched on. He spread his arms to which she walked towards her father and both hugged each other. He kissed on her forehead and walked out hand in hand.

A little to know about Mr. Gill he took the mantle from his father upon his death. Since then, He has lived his life in the fifth gear.

Obviously, I am just a small speck of dust in this big empire. 

They all just left and I was just standing there. The room smelled like coffee and i just wanted to go home curl up in my bed and sleep.

Just then " Hi, sweetheart. Are you Agni? leaned in a lady to ask if I was free tonight for dinner.

"I am sorry" She introduces herself. I am Mona I work for Mr. Gill I take personal appointments for family get togethers only. "would you be free for dinner, they have invited you. You will be chauffeured".

With a confused look on my face , I agree.

"Alright then, do you have any allergies. How do you like your meet?" The questions continued.

Interrupting her I asked " What am I supposed to wear?"

"Don't worry darling you can wear what ever you want this is a casual dinner, family only. They must really like you!! I have not seen a non VIP ever mingle with the family" She exclaimed.

Meanwhile, Richard knocked on the window to alert me that we have reached Rheas house. I sit up straight.

Her home is fronted by  rust-colored arched gates. They're no more than 6 feet tall, flanked by sand-colored stone pilasters. But they conceal a small guard shack that sits right inside the property. 

A dense thicket of 50-foot-tall trees shrouds the long driveway; the home sits about a quarter mile back. Hidden pan-and-tilt cameras are mounted on the stone pilasters and on posts inside the driveway. 

One sits at dog level, programmed to capture the license plates of cars as they drive in.

 It was almost as I live two different worlds and I love this one.
