Ron knocks on the door, excited yet with authoritarian tone. “Let’s go Dev, everyone is waiting.”
Walking towards the door Dev murmurs in anger.
Holding the door ajar just enough to see Ron’s face , Dev stands in the way so that Ron doesn’t enter.
Feeling outraged Dev whispers .’why is he here to disturb’.
“I’ll be there” he squeamishly assures Ron.
Dev walks in back in and placing his hand on the glass through which he was looking at Agni gives her a last look and he walks out.Takes a quick look at himself in the mirror before walking out and hugging Ron, they embrace each other for a while and with a fist pump they move ahead to the venue.
He quickly walked out so that Ron doesn’t end up coming inside and looking at Agni, she is just mine, only mine. No man can ever lay his hands on her.
I am going to make her mine, she belongs to me.
His heart still beating fast. All he wants is to sit down in a room alone and be left alone with his thoughts, but he didn’t pick the right day to fall in love, I guess.
Walking down the stairs to the chapel, he slips a step and trips. Ron immediately holds his hand and pulls him up. “Are you ok buddy?” He whispers with a grin on his face. He hands a cigarette to Dev.
Gestures Dev to smoke. “One drag, it will take the edge off. You know you need it.” Ron smiles teasing Dev.
Both smoke standing at the end of the stairs, Dev looks at his watch and smells a fragrance that catches his attention right away.
A shadow walks past him, even before he could pay attention Ron starts straightening his jacket. If only he could stop and I could get a view. She already had passed by, such an i***t. If only I could see her once, he Scoffed in disappointment. “It’s ok Ron, I am fine.” He roared and shaking his head he hands back the cigarette and walks off.
Ron walks behind him, they enter the back entrance of the venue.
The guests get a sneak peak of the brooding groom, drooling over his looks the girls giggle just to get his attention. The door opens from which Dev is kind off visible.
The girls go crazy as they sees the hunk suited and booted.
Guests stand as Rhea comes face to face with her fiancé, who wore a black custom-made Givenchy suit.
Dev looked happy when he saw his bride for the first time, grabbing her hand telling her: 'You look amazing' before tenderly lifting her veil.
Reah said 'thank you, pa' after her father walked her down the aisle.
The couple gazed at one another as the vows were said under the direction of the pastor.
Dev said: 'I Dev, take you, Rhea, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God's holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.'
Rhea responded: 'I, Rhea , take you, Dev , to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part; according to God's holy law. In the presence of God I make this vow.'
Dev managed to make a tearful Rhea giggle as they exchanged vows before being pronounced man and wife.
Rhea’s bridesmaids, her sister Sheel and a few friends Farah and Mahi were all dressed in grey although their dresses did not match.
They all sat front row next to mother-of-the-bride, also in white, and Mr Gill , who like most of the male guests wore a black suit.
Sheel, tearful leaning to her dad,she is beyond bursting with happiness for Rhea and Dev. He softly takes Sheel into his arms and kisses her on the forehead.
Norma also turns to Mr. Gill, smiling ear to ear. In a pleasant mood she chimes in “Such a magical, romantic wedding! I feel blessed to have my new daughter and her family as part of ours.'
And Dev seemed equally ebullient, he gave a seven -minute speech to the gathered guests.
“ I just want to stop the music a second because my wife’s coming back with a new dress on. Here she is - Rhea Gill - Zacharia” he said, introducing his bride.
The newlyweds shared tears, laughter and a passionate kiss in front of their hundreds of VIP guests.
Rhea waved and smiled to the crowds and said 'wow' to her new husband, while in his inimitable style, he said back: 'I'm ready for a drink now'.
As the newlyweds were swept through and were greeting the crowd , the VIP guests were taken up to the castle for a lavish lunch and drinks hosted by Norma.
Guests praised the relaxed atmosphere and diverse feel.
One of the VIP guests praising the wonderful day said: 'I have had a lovely day and it is wonderful to see so many people out for this lovely occasion'.
Stopping at the top of the stone steps, the pair shared a kiss to the delight of onlookers.
The couple were waved off and watched by members of the family as they left in an open-top carriage.
At midday, all eyes were turned to the grand door at the West Steps to catch the first glimpse of the bride as she appeared through the entrance.
Just before the bride arrived, the bridesmaids and bridegrooms were ushered in, who helped them into their positions with an encouraging hand on their shoulder.
The children were handed flowers behind the door to follow the bride.
When Rhea appeared through the doors of the chapel, sunlight streaming in behind her, she turned to smile and wave at the children who were standing to her right.
It’s was a delightful day. No one knew what each person actually felt. It was all a show.
While Rhea’s mom was seen sitting in a corner without assistance, Sheel asks her father in an angry tone “where is Agni? She was supposedly take care of mom. I didn’t realize her throughout the wedding.” She scoffs and wheels Mrs. Gill to the food counter.
