I was falling.
The momentum and force of the punch when it had hit Cato in the face indirectly sent me tumbling. The impact was so great in fact that I was moving at such a pace which left me no time to brace myself. All I could do was squeeze my eyes shut.
Hang on, how would that even help? God I am an idiot.Well f**k.
As I waited for the impact of the ground, I wondered who would want to attack Cato. Thinking back to how he had threw me on his shoulder my opinion quickly changed. Never mind...
Instead of the cold harshness of the floor I felt someones arm snake around my waist stopping gravity. Opening my eyes, I was met by two entrancing swirling gold orbs.
"Are you okay, lover?"
"U-uh Yes?" Oh god I was pathetic as I was unable to hide my obvious hypnotized response. Wait did he just call me 'lover' ?
Smirking the mysterious stranger hoisted me up into a bridal position without so much of a sweat. A pool of snarky responses plagued my mind but I refrained. Despite his obvious charm and beauty this stranger didn't need to be carrying me.
"Let her go Adam" Cato's voice was slurred as he spat blood from his mouth. Automatically I wriggled out of this so called 'Adams' grasp and quickly made my way towards Cato's slightly slumped frame.
Was it just me or did he sound a lil jealous? He couldn't possibly be.
Shaking those thoughts from my brain I carefully inspected the damage of the punch. In a continuous motion, I quietly yanked a large rag from my pouch and began smearing the blood from Cato's face.
I could already tell that his supernatural healing had kicked in but I still decided to clean him up.
"You okay?" I asked concern lacing my voice.
I was met with a gracious smile that had me holding my breath. God even after being hit and spitting blood he could still make a girl swoon. Damn those dimples.
Abruptly, I was interrupted by an unfamiliar male voice.
"What are you doing back here?" Venom laced the low hiss which I presume was directed at Cato.
Gently, Cato clasped my hand in his, halting me from further using the rag. Perplexed I looked behind me to face the two strangers who both held stoic expressions.
Adam and the man I didn't know the name of seemed to be unable to drag their eyes from my face. Was there blood or something on my cheek?
Despite checking for anything I found that there was clearly nothing there. So why were the looking at me so intently?
Awkwardly I adverted my eyes to the floor shuffling uncomfortably as Cato wrapped his arm around my waist protectively.
He soon escorted me to the doorway where the nameless male stood as he motioned for us to enter.

I didn't know what to do with my hands as I sat down on a woven wood chair , my mind still reeling with questions. Who punched Cato? Who were these men?
The intensity of their glowers forced me to advert my eyes to the floor but I soon found myself being interrogated by Adam.
"What are you thinking about, lover?" He said it again! I really wanted to berate him but I was currently in his home and I wasn't about to be rude. Instead I decided on just simply pulling a tight polite smile.
To this he raised his perfectly shaped brow expectantly.
"So?"
"Uh I was just wondering about who or rather what punched Cato." A small smirk twisted on his lips as he gestured for me to continue. Okay, he was far too interested.
"I mean to move so fast with such ferocity required great speed and strength..." With my abrasive compliments the nameless man perked up as he watched me. So was it him then?
"I wouldn't say that exactly" retorted Cato under his breath but of course we had all heard him, which yielded him a sharp snarl from Mr unnamed. Adam on the other hand ignored what had just been said entirely.
"Well love, I'm Adam and my brooding little brother over there, with the rather foul temper, is Levi" So that was his name.
"Nice to meet you I'm J-"
"Don't tell them your name" Cato's stern words had shocked me as he glared at Adam irritated.
"Aw such a cute attempt Catty but I already know" Adam spoke winking in my general direction.
Well this is getting really bloody strange. The ensuing silence that followed did nothing to help in bettering the mood.
**********************************************************************
A few minutes later Cato finally broke the quiet sighing as he did.
"They're both vampires Jess. I've known them for years but as you can see some old habits die hard" Cato replied mocking Levi, who lent coolly on the wall listening.
Vampires. I had heard of them, same as werewolves, but I never believed I'd ever meet one let alone two. They were rare.
The same as Cato I just wasn't able to bring myself to be afraid of either vamps. I mean Adam was very friendly whereas Levi still hadn't done a thing to harm me so...
Thinking back to when Tanno had told Tanni and I stories of such myths he had mentioned something different about the night creatures to werewolves was of course their diet.
Judging by the way I kept catching both men glancing to my neck every now and then I guess it was safe to say not all of the things I was told when growing up was a lie.
All I could do was hope they weren't hungry. Looking the vampire Levi up and down he was by no means ugly with soft wavy black hair and luminescent skin.
However his obviously standoffish demeanor and black eyes served as a fence of barbed wire. I honestly wondered if he was always so volatile.
"Cato, what are you doing here?" Levi's speech had somehow become even more cold and harsh.
"That's not a reason I have to disclose to you." Cato's tone had also become frigid in his reply.
Something had clearly happened in the past to have caused conflict between the two. The only one who didn't seem effected by the obvious friction was Adam who sat balancing on the edge of the table still looking directly at me.
Maybe he was trying to gage my reaction?
During the time it had taken me to glance towards the calmer all hell had already begun to break lose as both Cato and Levi were snarling.
"You f*****g flea ridden mutt"
"You cold-skinned pedophile"
"Unwanted stray"
"Rotten corpse"
"Mongrel!"
"Blood- w***e!"
As the insults become increasingly more intense, two fangs protruded from Levis' mouth with an open lip snarl and Cato's once emerald green eyes transmuted to obsidian.
This certainly did not appear to be a positive development but Adam still didn't even bat an eye in their direction. What the f**k is wrong with these two?
Before I could fully comprehend what I was doing, on their own accord, my feet made their own way dragging me in between the two viciously angry monsters. s**t, now what?
"Move" They both simultaneously commanded.
That was it. I couldn't hold back my awkward laughter. Bellowing on the floor I peered under my lashes to see all three males perplexed and staring at me.
"S-sorry" I began wiping away a stray tear away. "I just lost it" attempting to regain any form of decency and composure I had left, I noticed my fit of madness had dulled the tension dramatically.
Phew.
"So..." Adam finally decided to intervene as we all stood around uncomfortably. I still had no idea myself as to why we stopped here and waited patiently for someone else to say something.
I'd embarrassed myself enough already.
"Can we stay here for the next week?" And with those words the room once again descended into madness.
