~~Mira~~ That night the headache hit me like a hammer to the skull—sharp, unforgiving, and pulsing behind my right eye. It was the third time that week. I stayed motionless, my face pressed against the cool side of my pillow, willing the pain to fade, but it only grew louder. Throbbing. A slow, relentless drumbeat inmy bones. My alarm hadn’t even gone off yet, but I already knew it was going to be one of those days. The moon was near full. I didn’t need to check the calendar. My body was already warning me. I squeezed my eyes shut and breathed through my mouth. In, out. Count to four. Try not to panic. It never worked. Because along with migraines came the nightmares and the screaming. Not mine, someone else’s. A woman’s. Always in the distance, always echoing like she was buried
