Ten year old Christy could feel the pain radiating all over her body. Her arms had been stretched by chains that hung from the hook on the roof. Her feet were barely touching the floor because of which her arms had to support all her weight. Her back was covered in lashes and blood. Her head hung low and she could feel that she was slowly losing her consciousness.
The sound of the whip cracking through the air had her lifting her head slightly. Opposite to her hung her twin Ace. The whip landed on his back, resulting in him screaming.
"Stop screaming. I don't want to hear any noise coming out from your mouth. Take it like a man you little s**t", father yelled at him.
Ace gritted his teeth as the whip came down once again, trying to stifle his scream that was threatening to come out. He was breathing very hard because of the pain. It felt like it was tearing him apart each time the whip came down.
Christy could see her brothers Derek, Vlad and Michael lying unconscious on the blood covered floor. All three of them were covered in bruises, lashes and blood. The room was painted in their blood after years of punishments.
They had disobeyed father because of which they were being punished now. He said that he was 'disciplining' them.
Christy could no longer open her eyes. She let herself drown in the darkness which she knew was fast approaching her. She had learnt to find solace in the darkness. It was like a friend that took away all her pain each time she fell in its grasp. She welcomed it with open hands and fell unconscious.
Christy
I had been planning strategies the entire day. Night was fast approaching. In a few hours I knew that darkness would fall. I had long befriended the darkness. It felt like a part of me. It did not scare me.
I knew that it would be easy to sneak into the warehouse that held the slaves in the darkness.
I changed into my outfit which consisted of a black top, black pants and my favourite boots. I also put on my cloak. I hid my weapons in different hidden compartments in my cloak. I had daggers of different sizes hanging on my waist.
After getting ready I left through the back entrance in my house. I usually left through this entrance so as to avoid people getting suspicious. The back entrance opened into an alleyway. It was mostly abandoned. Not many people hung out here as it was dangerous once it was night.
I swiftly walked through the different streets.
People had begun to return home. Now only drunkards and druggies were left here and there. There were the occasional group of men standing around here and there while drinking but no one approached me. Homeless people could also be seen lying around in the street.
The man from the previous night had told me that the warehouse was seven blocks away. When I was three blocks away I stopped walking . I scanned the streets to see if anybody had followed me. So far it was clear. I hope that the mission goes smoothly. I didn't want any mishaps that could endanger the lives of all those children captured there. I would have to kill every single person who ran that place if I wanted to ensure the safety of the children.
I covered my head with the hood of the cloak and covered my face. Only my eyes were visible now.
I walked under the cover of the shadow. It was pretty dark so I didn't have to fear that someone would recognise me. I covered the last three blocks in the same way.
The warehouse was surrounded by trees. I hid behind one of the trees and looked around my surroundings. I could see some men patrolling the area but most of them looked half asleep. Looks like they haven't changed guards yet. I could use this to my advantage. Since the guards were tired I knew that they wouldn't pay attention to their surroundings. There were only seven men outside. Just like the man had informed me, the warehouse looked very poorly guarded. I could kill my way in single-handedly.
I quickly ran towards the building when I noticed that none of the guards were looking in my direction. Hiding within the shadows cast by the building, I slide out two of my daggers, one in each hand. I held the handle firmly, waiting for the guard to come in my direction.
The guard walked towards me, he hadn't yet noticed me. Before he could see me I moved. I slit his throat so that he wouldn't be able to make any noise and alert the others. Hiding his body to prevent anyone from noticing anything, I moved towards the next guard.
Slowly I killed all the guards stationed outside.
I sneaked in through one of the open windows after checking if anyone was there. On entering I noticed that I had entered a room.
There was a bed and a table in the room. Other than that the room was bare. I left the room, walking into a corridor. The entire building was rectangular in shape. It was built in such a way that one could see the opposite side. I walked around, opening various rooms trying to find the captives, occasionally killing any guards I encountered.
I had just finished searching the ground floor when I suddenly came across a set of stairs which looked like it led to the basement.
I descended the stairs cautiously hoping that I would find the children there. Reaching the basement I wasn't ready for what I saw.
