April 2010: A Grave Offer The years since moving in with my grandfather had been a blur. I had come to enjoy my life mostly. I spent my free time learning from my book and expanding my horizons. However nothing is permanent. I stared at my reflection in the bathroom mirror as I finished getting ready for the day. It was just after ten and I had already finished stockpiling wood for the winter and cleaning the house in preparation for the guests. Today was my grandfather's wake. My grandfather had been sick for the past year. He had bone cancer. I wasn't aware of all of the specifics as my grandfather didn't exactly tell me he was sick until it became too painful for him to get out of bed.
