CHAPTER 3:
After giving herself a day's break, Debra usually preferred to open the store on Sundays. So Maisey could stay at home to do her homework and she could handle her business. As Debra was giving a look at the grocery items, she noticed that she was short in a few things. After ordering them from the wholesale, she was waiting for the costumers when she saw one entering her shop. Debra watched him as he shopped. He looked nice and reasonable.. After completing his shopping, he came to her for paying his bill.
"Hello sir, how are you today?"
Debra sounded old fashioned but her greetings brought a certain sparkle to the eyes of this new costumer, whom she never saw before.
" Oh thank you, I am good"
George answered. As Debra was making his bill, he watched her and thought her as a nice and reasonable person.
" Do you own this convenience store?" he asked.
"Yes and are you the new person just moved to this town? they both chuckled on this unusual encounter.
" So what about having a cup of coffee together, I mean if you don't mind." George offered.
Debra felt surprised, the offer almost stunned her, because she was least expecting this.
" Oh why not, but if you don't mind may be you can join me for coffee at my store. I brew excellent coffee. I hope you would like it." Debra asked him because she couldn't leave the store unattended.
" Sure! that would be great, thank you " George said happily. All he was looking for was to have an introduction and a bit knowledge of that town from that beautiful lady. She made two cups of the coffee latte'.
She told him necessary things and spots of the town. He admired her and her welcoming gesture.
" So what brought you here? " Debra's question was unexpected.
" Oh! yeah, I am working on a project and wanted a comfortable lonely place for that...which I found. So, I moved here and found this place very interesting." George explained rather defensively on thiis mature question. Debra was a mature woman and beside her hospitality, she was a bit curious too. Having a fine discussion with him actually relieved her. They talked about the town for a while and then George left. He felt good after talking to someone from this new place.
