CHAPTER 7:
Debra was as usual working at her store when George appeared.
"Hey George, you look good as new today"
Debra exaggerated, she could see him still quite pale. She liked him and found him a nice person, so she didn't think it important to remain formal to him anymore. "So what brought you here today?" Debra asked him.
" I..umm..didn't come for groceries today actually." George hesitatedly replied.
" I am here to ask for a favour from you..if you are not busy after work, please give me a few hours, I am worried and I want to share my concern with you. Please...if you don't mind ?"
"Yeah..why not." Debra said to him.
"I think it would be better if you could come over to my place today" George said reluctantly " You can bring Maisey too, but she should stay far from me."
George twitched at Maisey.
Debra agreed on it , but in heart she wondered " Why should I bother him ?" but when she saw him hopeful she didn't double think. He said he would be waiting for her to have dinner with him.

Maisey and Debra arrived on 8pm at George's house. George had ordered salads and Pizzas. They talked about various topics related to the town while eating. Debra asked Maisey to watch TV while the two elders talked.
" Debra I am not feeling too well and I need to discuss something with you." George said thoughtfully.
" I thought I could heal appropriately after coming back from the hospital but its strange that I don't feel all that good." George added, " You should see how pale I have got ever since...ever since I have started feeling this strange coldness inside. I don’t know how to explain and to add up my misery, my friend whom I last visited...is going through similar sickness."
Debra rushed to make coffee for him. She came back with two mugs.
She smiled and said " Hey..have some coffee..because you seem so cold."
He thought how so caring she was, but the coffee couldn't make his problem go away. He knew it because he had tried everything that could make him feel better.
"Debra...you don't understand...and my friend thinks similar too that in the forest where we camped for a night...something supernatural found its way into us. I mean we took all the necessary precautions we could to avoid insect bites, we took shots, yet our tests showed the symptoms of dengue...I mean of both of us. We are quite sure that our prevailing sickness is something above natural." George explained to her.
Debra felt concerned about him too. First she thought of suggesting some psychological help, but then she thought of discussing the issue beforehand.
" Hey..George, you are just thinking so wrong. I mean there has to be a rational explanation of whatever you are experiencing."
George stopped talking.
"We live so close to the woods, in fact the trees outside become more like jungle in summer around here..but we never experienced anything beyond human comprehension ever. I won't lie but I came up to check after you arrived here...that was only because we, people of this town, collaborate with each other and the police to keep an eye on all kinds of strange changes. However what you have cultivated in your mind will further disturb you because its totally unbelievable. Please don't do this to yourself."
George felt a bit embarrassed because his hands were feeling perfectly warm in the soft hands of this strong lady, but he thought he annoyed her by telling his assumptions.
" You have to trust me on this Debra, I think I can't make you believe me, but in case I won't see this matter quickly, something might just go wrong with my friend and I want help from you for us."
George sounded ghosted to her and she couldn't help being thoughtful about his situation.
" George please stay calm..and give me some time to find some help for you."
Debra said to him.
She tried to sound not worried and persuaded George to rest and heal.

He didn't want her to leave because he knew that the chill will return as soon as he would be alone in his cabin.
