CHAPTER 11:
George was feeling weak and uncomfortable. He couldn't bear this any more...he could not wait any longer. The house where he was staying was cozy as Maisey said to him one day; " Hey uncle George, your house is amazing. I love all the stuff." He appreciated her comment, however he knew that he never felt like home in that house. After what he found through the priest, he could feel eerieness surrounding him. He decided to tell everything to Debra, so he called her,
" Hey Deb, I have an important matter to discuss with you. Can you please come over so we'll have a discussion?"George asked her with mixed feelings of embarrassment and plead.
"Yeah, sure... Maisey has Milan with her, so I will come over after closing my shop." Debra answered politely. From the day she first met George, she could feel a strange loneliness about him. She never asked much about his personal life and family. Now that he wanted to talk about something, she couldn’t anticipate more than anything above normal.
In the evening, after closing, she headed towards his house. From half a mile of distance from his house, she could see the lights gone dimmer due to fog. She called to inform him and to avoid waiting in cold for the door to open.
" Hey George, you don't look normal. I mean you look so pale, is everything alright?"
Debra said spontaneously as she saw George 's white, pale face. Her question was not unexpected. George held her hand as they both sat in the living room.
He told his entire situation to Debra and she listened carefully.
" Debra you are my only friend here. I came to this place to handle this growing situation inside me...please help me !"
George pleaded to her.
" George I will not say that I am not afraid to help you. I have a daughter to take care of and a business to run...and above all , how are you sure that those things wouldn't hurt me?"
See I know you are a reasonable person but I don't think this idea will help"
Debra replied after hearing his story..
George stared at her in distress and disbelieve.
