I Can't Control It

1014 Words
I looked at my dad with a pleading look after figuring out that Alice wasn't in a close enough proximity to hear. *sighs*"I guess, I have feelings for her. I know, it's complicated because of me being a witch with powers and stuff, but I can't control it. These feelings are way too strong. Dad, that asshat said she would never want me. Of course, I had a smart aleck remark to his statement, but the fear of her not accepting me is real." He nodded in understanding. "Your mom told me that she had the same fears everyday she knew me. It's normal to feel that way. Well, as normal as possible when you're a witch, haha." I hopped off the counter and started pacing. "The slut comment was because she has a boyfriend and practically ignores me sometimes, but she was throwing herself at me last Friday. We went to a party and for my dare in Truth or Dare, I kissed her, but I was going for her cheek. She turned her head so I would kiss her lips. When I freaked out and went to get another drink, she went ballistic. I don't wanna be her mistress. If she decides she wants me, I want her to be all in, because I will be all in." I just stopped pacing and looked at my dad for answers. He was wearing a shocked expression. "What?" He lifted a hand and pointed behind me. I turned around and saw multiple items floating mid-air. I waved my hands and they all returned to the places they belonged. "See, this is my problem. My powers are guided by my emotions because I haven't learned control. Also, I worry about hurting her." I walked to my room and plopped on my bed. I was exhausted. I fell asleep instantly. ALICE'S POV I heard the tail end of the conversation between Sammy and his dad. I was hiding on the other side of the kitchen wall, technically the living room. He didn't noticed me as he magically made things float and then put them back. I must be hallucinating. "Hey, Randy, did Sam just make things float?" He jumped slightly at the surprise of me being right there. "No, he didn't, sweetie. Want some pizza? Do you have a headache or something? You know, that can happen when your blood sugar gets too low." He said with a warm smile on his face while making me a plate of pizza with a glass of water and an ibuprofen. Something was definitely up, but I wasn't gonna press it. I actually did have a headache. I ate my pizza, getting seconds as soon as I was done. I took the ibuprofen and went to bed. I didn't fall asleep. I just sat at my laptop looking up witches and witchcraft. I read so much folk lore and stuff, that I could do a report right now. Eventually, I fell asleep with my laptop next to me. ________________________________ For the next few days, I just go through the motions. Wake up, go to school, come home and eat dinner, go to room, research what I saw, pass out, and repeat. Soon, Thursday comes and it's our birthday. I jump out of bed because I'm so excited and I rush the process of getting ready for school. SAM'S POV I have no idea why Alice has been cooped inside her room for three days, but I know for sure that she'll be excited about today. I'm a little excited, but I'm also kinda dreading watching all of Alice's friends give her hugs and gifts for her birthday. Yeah, they say they're my friends too, but they pay no attention to me. I have two friends outside of Alice. One in Art and English class. The other in Theater and Math class. There's a sweet girl that has had a crush on me since 6th grade, but I just like her as a friend and she has a hard time accepting that. She'll probably have a homemade gift for me. I love her gifts and she's a great person, I just don't have feelings for her. I get dressed in a nice pair of gray skinny jeans with my black converse and a button down, dark blue plaid shirt. I brush my hair and teeth. I fish out the gift I got for Alice, change my gauges to my blue spikes and change my lip rings to my silver spikes. No hoops today. I head downstairs and I'm taken aback by Alice and her choice of outfit. She's wearing a dark blue plaid 'school girl' skirt with a gray spaghetti strap tank top and black combat boots. She has in two pairs of earrings instead of one and her hair is straightened and hanging loosely. "What? Can't I bring back the matching outfit tradition? I'm also wearing a necklace that matches your tattoo." I look at her necklace and it's a pentagram. Now, I know the pentagram is a symbol that most see as a demon symbol, but it's actually a pagan symbol. Paganism is based on nature and as a born witch, my power comes from emotions and nature. My sole purpose is to keep the balance. "Yeah, I think you look cute! Everyone will love it. It's like Halloween but early." I say with a smile. "Are you being sarcastic?" I raise an eyebrow. "Did I sound like I was being sarcastic? I didn't mean to." She's up to something. "You look cute too, birthday boy." Alice smiled and winked at me and walked out to my car getting in and waiting for me. I grabbed an apple off the counter and walked outside to meet her. She must have grabbed the keys because the car was started when I got out there. I glance at the gas gauge. "I need to stop off for gas before we get to school. I have a shift tomorrow and I work the next 6 days. Can't run out of gas."
