CHAPTER 4

Bella POV:

Bella was happy, excited, and nervous as she drove to her office with Juliet, which was her first day of the job as the secretary of CEO of the company. She went over her research in her head that she had done in early morning as she was unable to sleep.

Harrington Enterprises is one of the most successful companies in the US. Lucas Harrington is the CEO and eldest son Andrew Harrington who started Harrington Enterprises. Harrington family is one of richest family in states.

Last night, Juliet reminded her that he had been voted one of most eligible bachelors three years in a row and she was single....

Bella had to laugh. Now was certainly not the time to find boyfriend. It was rare to find job with good pay, and the opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing companies was too good to pass up. Lucas was known for taking hands on approach to every aspect of his business. Considered by many to be an absolute control freak. Bella relished the idea of learning from one of the best. Also, Bella was lacking in field of dating as she had only one boyfriend in her 25 year life.

Bella has graduated in business management and wants to do masters but due sponsorship to children she has less money in her account and thus she had applied for the job so she can balance her account and also have experience in the field.

Bella's POV:

Juliet voice brought me back from my thinking, as we reached Harrington Enterprises. Both of us exited the car and entered the office. Juliet greets some people and introduced me to them. We entered the elevator fast as doors of lift were about to close. A girl's loud screaming was heard saying to stop the elevator. As I was near the buttons I pressed the stop button of the elevator and everyone in lift glanced at me like I was a monster and if looks could have killed I would have died 20 times right now as they were angry. I looked at Juliet who was silently laughing at this whole scene. I gave her a glare and she stopped laughing but there was a big smile on her lips.

After few moments a girl entered the elevator, and the door closed. The girl was breathing hard but she gave a smile to Juliet and Juliet smile back at her and ignored everyone else. A guy ask that girl

"Hi Ash, long time no see"

The girl who the guy called Ash glared at the guy at what she said next just shocked me ...

"Hii Jacob, oh no Hii Asshole, Why do you want to know were I was, and I am hundred percent sure you didn't miss me as I know you were busy f*****g my so called best friend. So just shut the f**k up. And for your kind information I am Ms. Ryan for you not Ash that name is reserved only for my friends."

Everyone was as shocked as me and was staring at her as if she had grown two heads. Jacob or whoever the guy was embarrassed by her outburst and was looking down. As soon as elevator door opened the guy almost ran out of it. Everyone else also moved out of the elevator and only I, Ju and that girl were left. As doors closed Juliet started laughing crazily holding her stomach and by seeing her I too started laughing.

Juliet told her "Whoa, Ash you gave him perfect answer and thank god I am not that Victoria as I Know you must have something with her too right."

Ash just shook her head and told Juliet that "You know they both deserve that for what they did with me. As you know I am not someone to be messed with." She looked at me and smiled and in return I just stared and gave her a small smile.

Juliet then introduced us to each other. 

"Ash meets Bella I mean Isabella Rose my best friend and secretary of CEO it's her first day at company and you definitely made it memorable. Right Bella? And Bella meet Ash aka Ashley Ryan she is assistant manager working under Liam Harrington" Juliet said to me and smirked at Ash, and she just glared at her.

I just shook my head at Juliet and smiled at Ashley and Ashley said to me

"Hii Isabella, you can call me Ash as you are Juliet's friend who is ultimately my friend."

I said "Hii Ash and you can also call me Bella as who knows we may become good friends" and winked at her. I don't know what happened but next moment I am hugging Ash and she says we will definitely be best friends. A clearance of throat was heard and we broke our hug and looked at Juliet who was pissed off by now. Seeing her face me and Ash looked at each other and laughed out loud and told Juliet we were just joking and at that moment elevator dings and they both exited the lift as they worked on same floor.

After I reached my floor I too exited the elevator and walked towards reception and Nora was working looking at computer and I greeted her "Good morning Nora". She shrieked and jumped from her seat keeping hand on her heart and took a deep breath looking at me.

Nora composed herself and smiled at me "Good morning Isabella and welcome to Harrington Enterprises and Ms. Hills is waiting for you in her office just walk straight at the end you will see her cabin." I smiled and thanked her and went toward Ms. Hill's desk.

As I reached at end I saw Ms. Hills was sitting and working in her office and there was one more office which had big door which may belong to Mr. Harrington. I cleared my throat to her as the door was open also I didn't wanted to sacred her like Nora and Ms Hills smiled at me. I greeted her as she is my senior.

She said "Good morning, Ms Rose and welcome to Harrington Enterprises."

I said "Thank you Ms Hills, and please called me Bella."

She said "Now you follow me and I will show you around our office. For few days we will be sitting together in this office. After two weeks I will get retired and you will be executive secretary of Lucas Harrington.

I followed her around as she showed the area of office and she also told me the family history of this company. After that she gave me work to arrange a schedule for Mr. Harrington. She made me sit beside her as she had brought extra chair for me. I quickly sat on my chair and started working Ms Hills went somewhere and said to me that she will be back.

After sometimes as in was engrossed in work that time my phone beeped indicating message I checked my phone to see text from Juliet and some unknown number. I didn't notice a man standing and I jumped when he shouted. I now know how Nora felt that time when I greeted her without a warning. I looked up and saw Mr. Lucas Harrington standing in front of me. I must say the images on websites don't do justice at all as he looked like a Greek God in reality. I was continuously staring at him. He had an angry expression on his face and as soon as our eyes met I had butterflies in stomach and heartbeat increases. After sometimes Ms. Hills came carrying files from which she drop some on floor making noise Thud, which brought us back from our staring

I immediately looked down as he again shouted. I felt my eyes watered as he was almost insulting. She told Mr. Harrington that I am his new secretary. But I was too much caught up at looking down that Ms Hills clears her throat and snapped me back.

I introduced myself "Good Morning Sir, myself Isabella Rose."Thank you for accepting me in your company and I will try to give 100% for the benefits of the company. He also introduced himself rudely.

We shake our hands and I felt sudden jolt of current passed through my body and I didn't looked up at him and was frozen on my spot.

Then he introduced himself 

and welcomed me to the company. After that he said something with Ms Hills which I didn't hear I was down and left.

After that I sat down and drank the glass of water which was at my desk to calm my nerve. His eyes were ocean blue in color and had something in it which made my heart beat faster. Ms Hills patted my shoulder and told me 

"Isabella, Lucas is not that bad. He must be having bad day otherwise he never shout and anyone." I quietly nodded my head at her.

I then continue my work till break time and Mr. Harrington and Ms Hills were busy with clients. At lunch break Juliet and Ash came at my desk and told me it's lunch break and I was about to say no as seeing Mr. Harrington's morning shouting I was in no mood of getting it again. But then we hear someone clearing his throat and we all see Mr. Harrington standing and told me to take a break and he also left. I was still staring at him as he was walking toward elevator as he turned in and looked at me. I was feeling that my knees were going weak; my face was heated the way he was staring at me. I was still looking at way he went and was blushing furiously. Maybe what Ms Hills told me must be right. I never had this kind of feeling in my whole life by just looking at anyone.

Ash loud whistle brought me back and I looked at them and they were having I know what you are feeling look and both of them were smirking at me. I blushed at them and ignored looking at them and they both laughed out loud. I mentally scold my blushing cells for coming up at wrong timing.
