TEN HER DATE LASTED AROUND three hours. Despite that, when she got back, Danny was in basically the same position she’d left him in. “Ran outta beer two hours ago,” he said, his attention trained on the TV. As asked, she’d bought beer. Stashing most of it in the fridge, she kept two and opened them. Neither was for her; an entire bottle of wine at the bar was her limit. She took both to him and handed one over. He sealed his lips around the top and tipped his head back to empty it into his throat. Because she was blocking his view of the TV, he used an arm to edge her over a few inches. “Let’s say you want to send me a letter,” she said. He finished downing the first beer and tossed the bottle toward the kitchen sink. It clattered against the metal, then slowed to roll back and forth
