Facing reality

Sophia’s POV

I lay here in darkness.. this is my reality now. I don’t know how long it’s been but it feels like an eternity. I hear nothing but my own thoughts and they are so loud sometimes. I’ve cried so much that I’ve gone numb to the pain. I have no mate, no wolf and now no life. I think I might be dead because why else would I be in eternal darkness. I tried finding a way out in the beginning but nothing worked. I walked until I just couldn’t anymore.. and then I finally gave in to the darkness.

All of a sudden I start to see a light coming toward me. This makes me both excited and terrified. Once the light reaches me it suddenly explodes into such a brightness that I have to close my eyes. Once I open them I am in a beautiful meadow with wolves walking around in pairs of two. They just glance at me and continue on their way. I can’t help but wonder what is going on.

Suddenly I hear a voice behind me “they are waiting for their perfect match to be born” I turn around quickly and see the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. “Goddess” I whisper and instantly drop to my knees. “Rise child” I stood up and looked at her “what is this place”? “This child is where all of my children’s souls rest until it is time for them to be born with their human. You see they already have their mates here so they get to be together until it is time to go” she said “wow.. I never knew they got to meet before they met in my world” she just smiled at me softly and said “wolves mate for eternity not just a lifetime. I make them forget who they’re mate is once they are born until they find them on earth. Think of it as adding a little spark to the fire”

“Goddess why? Why have you put me through so much? I have lost my wolf and my mate and I’m hurting so much.” She sighs “the path laid out for you at birth was very different than the reality we face today. I cannot predict the choices people will make. Justin was a pure soul and I thought he would remain as such but he was corrupted shortly before you met him. He has a darkness growing inside of him that truly worries me. If I had not taken the steps I have you would have been bound to him for life. He would have beaten you, r***d you, cheated on you and just used you to make pups.”

I gasped “what? Why?” “I cannot go into detail but just know that the reality you are currently facing is not what I wanted for you but it was the only option I had. I also need your help, I need you to figure out how to free all of the other slaves in the pack.” She said “we can’t escape! There’s no way out!” I told her

“I know child I don’t want you to break out I want you to help them get redemption for their freedom. Only the worthy can be freed and I believe you can help them.” “ goddess I don’t know if I can do it I mean I’m just a slave with nothing left.” “Oh dear you are so much more and your wolf is not gone she is simply sleeping. Once you are free she will wake up and if you help the other girls I can promise you that your life will be a whole lot better” I blew out a breath and just stood there thinking for a few minutes until I finally looked at her and said “ok, I’ll do it” “marvelous! Now I want you to close your eyes”

I do as she says and suddenly my body feels very heavy and I hear a faint beeping noise that seems to be getting louder. I am trying to will my eyes to open but they just won’t. I lay there for at least 20 minutes trying until finally! Finally they open and everything is just so bright, I’m trying to figure out where I am but honestly I feel so disoriented. I look over and see Naomi sleeping on the reclining chair next to the bed. “Hey!” I try to yell but it actually comes out as a whisper. I keep trying until finally she opened her eyes. Once she realized I was awake her eyes got wide and she ran out of the room.

She walks back in several minutes later with a doctor who looks happy to see me awake. “It’s nice to see you awake Sophia you gave us quite a scare” I just look at him as he continues. “You have been out for three weeks I was starting to worry that you might not wake up but I think you just needed time to heal. I’m going to run some tests now that your awake to make sure everything is functioning as it should and if everything looks good you can leave within a week.”

He walks out and Naomi walks over to me and throws herself at me. Hugging me as if I might disappear as she starts sobbing. “I’m so sorry! Please..please I’m sorry I know you can never forgive everything I’ve done but I really and truly am sorry.” She carry’s on like this for a while before I towel her off of me and tell her I’m tired and that I would like to be alone. She looks sad but leaves.

I lye there for a few minutes before I fall asleep thinking about what the goddess told me I needed to do and I drift off thing of Redemption.
