I had willingly sold my soul to a fiendish creature in order to save my hometown. I had already lost my purpose in life, so I no longer cared what was going to happen to me. That loneliness would swallow me if I remained here any longer. I couldn’t face her anymore. It would shatter me and dying in their eyes was my best escape.
