HANK
Alissa made for a beautifully amusing sight as she ranted and raved over what happened between us the other night. My suspicions about the fog were correct, my human form only lasted as long as the fog did. Those memories of us would stay with me for a long time. Alissa was simply unforgettable in my eyes. My tail wagged gleefully about as I took her in.
Clad in a pair of eggshell yellow sleep shorts with lace trim and a matching midriff tank top, she completely overlooked my answer to her question if I was Hank the man trapped inside this trip cat body. It had been a long time since I had a good shag and the other night I made the best of it with Alissa. She was just the right amount of sassy and matched my speed in bringing out the naughty kink side of me. She was a prime student taking every lesson I had taught her masterfully.
Today we will be taking our leave. After Alissa calmed down enough and got back to her senses. She finally noticed the blinking clock above the doorway a clear signal of communication between her and Haku. This clock matched his stopwatch so it was an easy guess on my part.
This worried me a bit as I had grown a liking to the lad and he was intrigued with his skills back at the Tweedle Club fighting off those guards. If he had met with trouble, we had to go out there and help. Strange enough, I don’t know how I knew this but for a moment I could swear I heard Alissa’s inner thoughts as she second-guessed herself. Though her voice filtered in and out of my mind. I caught that she was from a place called Manhattan, New York. It clicked with me from the dream point I worked my way out of during the Haze fog.
On top of that, another memory had surfaced concerning the Elder Portal. Doc and I had been alerted a while back about the high traffic rate with the use of the Elder Portal. Being one of the oldest Portal in the realm its origins are still not fully known, but it had the ability to teleport beyond the realms that we knew about so far. Making the possibilities for people like the mastermind reign of havoc limitless.
I was confused thinking if my brother and I knew about this why hadn't we done anything about it? Something still felt off about the memory, like it wasn’t complete. However, even if I found out anything I couldn’t do squat as a cat once more for the moment. Maybe my little paws could help Alissa get a jump start on curing me with that powder.
I knew she had found an odd component in the powder that caused one to hallucinate or change, but things got sidetracked with the fog coming into play. Dare I say I regret it, hell no I do not! If anything I can’t wait to my old self again just to see the look on her face as she now denied anything that happened between us was real.
Not minding that for now, I jumped down from the table, just as Alissa returned dressed, Packed, and ready to go. “Alright Happy, we got a friend to save,” she said bending down to scoop me up in her arms. A familiar scent swam across my nose and I purred. It seemed I did that a lot in Alissa’s presence, but a small hint of the powder wafted a bit from her as well. This was good, she was taking it with her.
Did she figure out that component's origins? Most likely, that was the case. Though Haku had sent us a warning, we didn't know if he was in danger or just simply sending a warning. The queen had sent out her Diamond Crows but there was a fall out on our end so they weren't looking for the Mad Bandit thus far.
We left the hidden cottage just outside of the Dream Forest, heading in another direction from where we came.
”I know you can understand me Happy, so I’m going to be straight with you okay, we have to make a pit stop first before heading to meet up with Haku. That powder is no ordinary substance plus I need to stock up on a few things I can only get in Mushroom Bay. Once there you must stay by my side at all times, do not go snooping around no matter how tempted you may be.” she explained all in one breath as she stopped at a crossway split into two paths.
“Meow!” I could only respond in this way. Though she spoke words out loud, her inner thoughts were quite scolding. My curiosity was known to peak at the most unsavory times, which drove my brothers crazy growing up as the many times I landed us in situations. A world like this one was designed to entice the curious mind. The name Mushroom Bay already tickled my cat ears with interest.
As Alissa stood at the crossroads just off the edge of the Dream Forest, We were confronted with a peculiar choice. Two paths diverge before us, each offering a radically different journey into the enigmatic realm known as Mushroom Bay.
To our left, a dark and mysterious forest beckoned, its gnarled trees reaching skyward like skeletal fingers, their leaves casting eerie shadows on the forest floor. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth and moss, and the only sounds were the rustling of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl. Despite its foreboding appearance, there was a strange allure to this path, as if it held secrets waiting to be discovered.
On the other hand, to our right, lay a bustling cityscape bathed in warm sunlight. The buildings were made of smooth stone, their facades adorned with colorful murals and intricate carvings. The streets were alive with the hustle and bustle of people going about their day, their laughter and chatter filling the air with an infectious energy. It was a stark contrast to the quiet solitude of the forest, and yet it held its kind of enchantment, promising adventure and excitement around every corner. My eyes glowed with eager fervor but my strong instinctive nature knew we should choose the latter.
Alissa seemed to mirror my thoughts as she followed the inviting path through the forest, the trees gradually thinned out until suddenly, we found ourselves standing at the edge of a breathtaking bay. The water shimmered in the sunlight, its surface dotted with colorful boats shaped like various types of mushrooms. A wooden dock stretched out into the bay, inviting one to step aboard and explore.
“Beautiful! Isn’t Happy? Don’t be too intrigued after all every place has its dark side. I have to set you down now, remember to stay close.” Alissa said as she set me down and I followed her lead.
The bay itself was a riot of color and life. Lush green hills rolled down to meet the water's edge, dotted with vibrant flowers and towering mushroom-shaped trees. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blossoms and the sound of birdsong, creating a sense of tranquility and peace that washed over me like a warm embrace.
“Keep up Happy!’ Alissa's voice rang out again keeping me alert. As I wandered further into Mushroom Bay, I couldn't help but marvel at its beauty. Everywhere I looked, there were wonders to behold – from quaint cottages nestled among the hills to hidden grottos tucked away beneath cascading waterfalls. Each corner seemed to hold a new surprise, a new delight waiting to be discovered.
Alissa knew her way around, that much was obvious. “We are headed to Mu Gardens here to meet a dear friend of mine. Elder Master Shitake should be waiting for me, as it's about due time to replenish a few things for my Mad Bandit cloak.” Alissa whispered but it was loud enough for me to catch it.
But I should have known that our journey here wouldn’t be easy as the loud commotion happening up ahead leading into the Mu Gardens stopped Alissa in her tracks. A frown alights Alissa's face as her eyes hone in on someone up ahead. She quickly picked up from the ground before continuing forward.
“Be good Happy from here on out. No matter what you hear or see got it. Something is up, I can feel it.” she said walking over to an old man who looked to be trying his best to mediate the situation that had already grown a crowd which wasn’t good for us if we wanted to get in and out of this place. Taken in what she meant, I knew how to mind my own business. However, fate seemed to have other plans for us the moment we entered Mushroom Bay.
