Dirty Tricks Part Two

Sometime Later……….. Waking up, I found myself looking at a dark purple night sky with sparkling green stars. What the? I thought, finally being able to take a good look around me. Why was everything extremely huge all of a sudden? Had things grown overnight? Or had I knocked myself into a stupor when I passed out? Events that happened earlier between the mastermind, the mad bandit and I returned to mind. It appeared that I had been out of it for some time. Something was wrong with that white powder, it had a funny sour smell to it. I needed to collect some samples of it near that mushroom and find a place to research it. Blinking my eyes to remove the sleep haze from them, I noticed my night vision was uncannily sharp. Even the red and white polka dot mushrooms that were now giant were more pronounced, and I could pick out small details. The leaves were lush, fragrant, and large billowing in the little wind, but I didn’t feel the chill. I felt warmer than usual, which was strange. My throat felt incredibly dry and the need for water was a priority. As on instinct my senses suddenly felt honed and I could hear the running of water. Following the sound, led by my increasing thirst, I failed to notice that it wasn’t the weird and creepy-looking forest that had grown bigger. My senses led me to a nearby pond, a big blue moon casting an amusing glowing shadow over the water. The shadow resembled a wheel of cheese, causing my stomach to rumble in hunger. Why did I feel so strange? I reach my hands out to test the water before drinking it. Only to reel what was supposed to be my hand back in shock. I didn't just see what I think I did, right? I thought as I inched slowly back to the pond to look at the reflection in it. Two very distinctive black fur cat ears appeared first, followed by a black furry cat face with glowing green eyes that matched the stars above. Not to mention, the white whiskers that donned my now pink cat nose that were curled at the tip like a funny mustache. To make matters worse, my lips were donning a smile full of pearly white teeth so wide it was comical. What the hell had happened to me? Why was I a cat? And not just any cat, it seemed. Taking a deeper perusal of myself with the help of the pond. I found my fur was dark black, almost midnight black with purple stripes running across my fur that coincidentally looked like suspenders. My long black tail with its purple edge tip, wagged in frustration. How was I to deal with this? That mastermind was so dead when I got my hands on him. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. The smile that was somehow plastered on my cat's face wouldn’t subside and all I could do was let out a weird-sounding meow. No longer able to ignore my thirst anymore, finally I was able to lap the water in the pond with my tongue, trying my best not to feel weirded out. As I stated, my dry throat. My throat still felt itchy and the burning sensation was still there. My thirst was gone, and I would take that as a good sign until I could figure a way out of this mess. It did not go unnoticed that I was limited and a liability. My mission was set in this place, it seemed, and I could no longer sense the Elder portals pulling. That was bad news, meaning something had happened to cause it to close. The more accurate question is, was the portal closed or was it completely gone? If that happened, how would I get back? The mad bandit came to mind and I instantly shook that thought of. No way! That dude annoyed me to no end. That would be my last resort. For now, I could just wander around and hopefully solve this myself. A rustling sound coming from the bushes close to the pond caught my attention. Using my newfound cat's sight, I zoomed in and found a small pathway there. The smallest but faint sound of footsteps I picked up at the next second. Someone was trying to sneak up on me. I felt my claws extract from my paws the slight sting from the intrusion keeping me sharp and pinpointed on who was approaching. The scent of ginger, lemon, and honey hit my senses all at once, making me purr. What was wrong with me? Refocusing back on the intruder, a pair of white round-toe lace-up platform shoes came into view. Frowning, I decided to wait it out and see if this person was friend or foe. The person didn't bend in front of me, and then I felt the most soft and gentle touch against my fur. I purred yet again. It was embarrassing, but I have to admit it felt good. “What a cute kitty!” the voice exclaimed as she continued to pet and stroke me. I looked up in grief to find myself mesmerized by the most beautiful pair of dazzling blue eyes I had ever seen. A memory came to mind that I had seen a pair of eyes like these once before, but that was a long time ago. Bringing myself back to the reality before me, I just looked at her and she at me. She stopped petting me and stood up, and I stealthily took a deeper look. Her skin was creamy white and fair, so smooth to touch that I wanted to lick it. Her two-toned colored blonde hair was pulled back in a high ponytail, making her look youthful and sweet. Something in me said not to be fooled by her appearance as her aura carried a bit of mischievousness to it. Clad in a blue denim drawstring pants jumpsuit, she oddly looked at home here as she riffled through the pack sack she had with her. She had called me a cute kitty. That irked me a bit. If anything, I was far from a kitty, but a grown-ass male cat, thank you very much. My eyes did not stray from her until she finally found what she wanted, opened it up, and placed it in front of me. “Here you go, kitty,” she said after placing the can in front of me. The smell of tuna assaulted my nose and I almost vomited on the spot. I detested tuna fish, salmon ran second. Was she low-key trying to kill me? I had to think rationally here, she didn’t even know I was human, well fairy eleven wizard to be exact, but anyhow, I was not eating that, no matter how hungry I was at the moment. She frowned, after noticing I didn’t touch the can of tuna she had displayed before me. “Are you a picky kitty?” she asked me, but I pretended she was asking no one in particular. She stood before me in thought like she was deciding something. Even so, I wasn’t dumb and answered with a meow. I was better off convincing her to take me with her than staying in this forest I knew nothing about. “Awww, so cute!” she exclaimed again. She picked me up and carried me in her arms. Turning back and heading along the path she had just come from not mere minutes ago. She began rambling on the trek to wherever we were headed. Strangely, I didn’t find it irritating, but the opposite. She had a melodious voice that was soothing to my cat ears. I hung on to her every word, listening out for clues about who she was and what place I had landed in through the portal. To my surprise, the words magic letters caught my attention. She was guided here by the letters to this pond where she found me. Just how far did Delia’s spell reach? The best question was how much damage Christine had done. I had never heard nor seen a place like this and yet, here I was. Stuck here for the time being and as a cat no less. Wherever this woman was headed must have been far from the pond where we met. Listening to her voice along the way, I found myself being lulled to sleep. I was exhausted from the day's events. After all, it had been a busy day.
