Ashley and Ladron walked into the Grand Hall of the Ancient Lycan Palace, and she looked around as the Witches, Warlocks, Dragons, Elves and Fairies all had sent representatives. She was about to greet them when a sweet smell hit her nose, and she could tell it was a Vampire. She stiffened for a moment before she turned, and glared at him for a moment. "Please have a seat." she said to him more sternly than she meant to.
The Vampire looked at her surprised, before he smiled slightly. "You look a lot like-" he began before she growled.
"If you value your life, I would not complete that sentence at this moment. Now I understand the difference between your scents, however until yesterday I believed you to be responsible for the deaths of many people I can no longer attest to. That however does not mean I have entirely let go of that hatred yet, and am not ready to hear those words from you." she said through clenched teeth to him.
Draycon walked over from his seat, his parents being the actual representatives of the Dragon Nation. "Marcus, before you do or say something you might regret, I suggest you take a seat. My Mate may not have killed you yet, but if you upset her further than what you just did, I assure you I will." he said extending his hand to indicate he should go sit down.
Marcus's eyes went wide, as he had not expected that remark. "Very well, I shall listen to what she has to say. Before I decide how offended I will be for this incident." he told Draycon before he walked to one of the empty chairs.
Ashley walked up to where she had intended, and she looked at them all sitting there nervous about how she was going to react. "Welcome everyone, I know most of you came here expecting some great alliance. That may occur, as I have not yet made my decision. There are many secrets that each of you apparently knows, in regards to the plans my parents put into place.
"That is the only reason you all sit here, welcome among the Lycans in our most Ancient stronghold. It is in there name I will hear what you have to say, before I make that decision." Ashley told them all bluntly without taking her seat among them.
Gretchen was the first to stand and bow to her formally. "None of us here can fully understand what you are going through, especially as we all knew if something happened your memories would be blocked until you turned. None of us expected to you to have had to deal with what you have since that day. None of us could have foreseen that the very day that occurs, you would be found and attacked again. Your suspicion is correct however, that your parents set this in motion long before what happened occurred. They entrusted parts of what you would need to know with each of us, in the hopes it would encourage you to accept the foundations of the Alliance." Gretchen told her honestly before she sat down. She had not revealed what that information was.
Ashley nodded as she looked directly at Gretchen. "I am aware of that actually, however what you may or may not be able to reveal to me will not impact my decision. For 13 years you all have watched and waited for the hope that any of us had even survived. During that time, not one of you tried to advance the work that my parents began. Why should we Lycans trust that any of your Races even still believe in that Alliance?" she demanded of them rudely.
Marcus was the first to stand, and he glared at her. "So the rumors that this grand hope was for naught are true?" he asked her.
Ashley looked at him and c****d her head as she regarded him. "You would have to ask someone else about that, I do not know who or what this grand hope is. All I see are the leaders of Supernatural Races who hid from the world when it was not their people being attacked. Seems odd that the moment I was attacked that all of you come running here to seek this Alliance." she said to him honestly.
All of the other Races knew when she said that, there would be almost next to no hope. She was holding a grudge, and did not care about the past in this moment.
Marcus looked like he had been hurt the most by this. "It seems your father was highly mistaken that you would be the great hope for peace between the Supernatural Races. The Hope he spoke of was the White Lycan, the one who had the power to change the fates of the Children of the Moon."
Ashley smiled as he said that, and barely kept Selene from showing him exactly what the White Lycan was capable of. "Even if I were this so called White Lycan, why would I be the only hope for all of you to unite? Why would you only seek Peace if this White Lycan sanctioned it?" she demanded of him.
All of them looked at each other, and could see the absurdity of it themselves. Even Marcus looked somewhat dumbfounded as he looked at her perfectly calm demeanor. He had been trying to anger her enough to get her to shift. He was impressed that she was able to suppress it so easily. "It is not for us to question the will of the Moon Goddess." he said simply.
Ashley smiled as she knew that very thing already. "Why would this White Lycan make you believe that the will of the Moon could be changed." she asked him pointedly making Draycon glance at her for a moment.
'What are you doing' he asked mind linking her.
'Testing them.' she said simply.
"Some of us remember things that have fallen from the memories of the Lycans. Some of us know the significance of the appearance of the White Lycan." Marcus said as Drake nodded as well.
"So do some of us Lycans." Ashley told him coldly making all of their eyes go wide. "You came here expecting to give me some sob story about how my parents arranged all this, and that because of my age when they were devastated, believe I do not remember what has occurred. You believe you are the only sources of information to lead me forward. Marcus, your secret you have to tell me is that you and your people swore that when the time came we would fight shoulder to shoulder against the Vampyre warriors. That my father trained with you for months to learn your combat techniques so that the other Wolves and Lycans could be trained in your tactics. Tell, me how is your daughter, Talya if I recall correctly?" she asked him making his eyes go even wider.
"Let me tell all of you something, so that you might understand where I am coming from. I remember everything perfectly, all of the planning, the meetings, conferences, parties, all of it. Those things I have no memory of, my father made records of." She said holding up one of the Journals the Alliance had used. They knew as soon as they saw it, they knew she knew everything that they had worked towards.
"If you have that, why do you have all these questions?" Marcus demanded.
"You have yet to answer my first question Marcus. The plan itself was for the Supernatural Races to join together and begin training together, so that when this day came all the Supernatural Races would be prepared to move forward. What work has been done to achieve that purpose? When was the last time the lot of you met, to discuss this Alliance? What work have you done to advance the goals that each of you agreed to?" she demanded already knowing the answer to the question.
Marcus walked back to his seat, and the rest of the leaders sat there looking at her, knowing they had not continued the work they had agreed to with her parents. They all knew, that her anger was vindicated, because she was correct in her judgement of them.
"Fortunately for all of you, my father was not wrong about any of what he told you he believed. The only belief he held in error, was the belief that you would continue the difficult work that he and my mother fought and died for. Fortunately he had more advice for me than what he ever gave to any of you, and the fact of the matter is, that what is coming will require we work together more than ever before." she said as all of their eyes went wide again in surprise.
"We cannot move forward without proof." Marcus said looking at her.
"Ok, have a good day Marcus. You are excused." she said pointing to the door.
"What is that supposed to mean?" he asked her.
"I thought you said we all believe in the Moon Goddess, that Artemis herself is the one thing we all share in common. Have you ever met her? Have you ever actually had a true conversation with her?" Ashley asked him.
Marcus had no idea where she was going with this, and decided to entertain her. "No, I have not." he said as the rest of the leaders shook their head indicating their answer as well.
"Than why do you believe in her without proof of her existence?" she asked him.
"This is far from the same thing." Marcus said coldly. "Far from it."
Ashley laughed at that, as she looked right at him. "I was under the impression you were aware of the significance of the White Lycan Marcus?" Ashley asked him bluntly.
"It is said that the White Lycan is the only creature capable of changing the Fates of ALL Supernatural Races. That promise given to us by Artemis herself, and that belief goes beyond anything you can believe." Gretchen told her.
"Is that all you know of the White Lycan?" she asked them with a smile. Most of them nodded. "Well it seems your education is severely lacking than, as the White Lycan is far more than a conduit of change for the Supernatural Races. You are all aware that Artemis blessed each of the Races in her own unique ways. White Wolves are the visible incarnation of that blessing, just as those of your Races that are blessed are easily recognizable.
"White Lycans are far more rare, as their blessing comes from the Moon itself, not the Goddess who represents it at the moment." Ashley told them bluntly.
"Be that as it may Queen Ashley, we put our faith in that Moon Goddess, not those blessed by her. If you expect us to risk all we are on a belief you might be who you claim, we need proof that we can see." Marcus told her.
"Too bad for you that I will not provide proof for every idea that you will demand it for. You ask me to risk my Race, on the word that you will not betray us. All because it is in your best interest that we fight with the lot of you. Why should I believe the word of any one of you, when you cannot even honor the word you gave my father that you would not allow his death to fracture you on the path forward?" she demanded of them all.
