Cody's POV:
As I look around the huge ballroom, I see smiles everywhere. There's my mom and dad who are actually getting along, my step brothers who seem to be more than tipsy, Cindy who's surrounded by a couple of men trying to impress her and Angeline and Victoria with my friends at their own table. I turn to Lizzy, who's sitting beside me. She looks a little upset.
“Baby?”
She looks at me and smiles. I know that smile all too well. The one that tries to cover up everything.
“Yes?” she answers innocently.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes.” she shakes her head. “No. I don't know.”
