*Chapter 4: The Deal*
Tolu’s hands went cold.
Dami. Of all the people in Lagos.
“Didn’t expect to see me, did you?” he said, walking toward her. Same smirk. Same expensive watch. “Still selling data on w******p status, Tolu?”
“Cut the crap,” she said. Her voice didn’t shake. Much. “You want 50GB or not?”
He laughed. “I don’t want data. I want access.”
He turned the laptop on the table toward her. On the screen: a bank. A big one. GTB logo.
“My team tried for 3 weeks,” Dami said. “Firewalls, encryption, biometrics. Nothing. But I heard about a girl in Yaba. The Data Plug. They say she can get into anything.”
Tolu’s stomach dropped. Who told him?
“How much?” she asked.
“50 million,” he said. “If you get in. 5 million now, to start.”
5 million.
That was more money than she’d ever seen.
But breaking into a bank? That was prison. That was 20 years.
Dami leaned in. “Come on Tolu. Remember what you said when we broke up? `I’m going to be rich and you’ll beg me`. Here’s your chance.”
His phone buzzed. He glanced at it, then back at her.
“You have till sunrise to decide. My car will be downstairs.”
He walked to the door, then paused.
“Oh, and Tolu? If you go to the police… I have videos. From when we dated.”
The door clicked shut.
Tolu was alone. With a laptop. And a decision that could change everything
