*Chapter 3: Waterside Towers* The bike dropped her at the gate of Waterside Towers at 2:58 AM. VI was too quiet. No streetlights. Just security guards with torchlights and guns. “Name?” one of them asked. “Tolu. I’m here for Client #27.” He checked a list, nodded, and pointed to Tower B. “Penthouse. Don’t touch anything.” The elevator smelled like expensive perfume. Floor 32. Penthouse. The doors opened to a hallway with marble floors. One door was open. Light spilling out. Tolu stepped in. The apartment was empty. Just one chair in the middle of the room. A laptop on a table. And a man standing by the window, back to her. He was tall. Suit. No face yet. “Close the door,” he said. His voice was calm. Cold. She did. “50GB,” he said without turning. “Can you do it?” Tolu dropped her bag. Pulled out her laptop. “I can do 100GB. If the price is right.” He turned. Tolu’s breath caught. It was her ex. Dami. The one who said she’d never be anything but a ‘phone charger girl’. He smiled. “Hello Tolu. Fancy seeing you here.”
