Daniel walked toward her table but didn’t sit down immediately. He stopped just close enough for her to notice him. Slowly, he cleared his throat. “Hi,” he said. “Sorry to disturb you, miss, but I have this strange feeling that we’ve met before.” He paused, then added lightly, “I don’t know why, but… have we by any chance crossed paths in the another realm?” The lady looked up at him, amused. A small chuckle escaped her lips. “That must be a misunderstanding,” she said. “I’ve never seen you before.” Daniel went quiet. For a moment, he considered letting it go. He wasn’t entirely certain himself—only that familiar tug at the back of his mind refused to fade. Slowly, he reached up and removed his glasses. Then his cap. The effect was immediate.
