They discovered the mangled remains of Scrapper, Bill, and Amin Salah discarded behind one of the fixtures near the mummy’s sarcophagus.
Were it not for the dead bodies, Dawn had considered keeping the night’s events secret.
Even though she now knew who the guilty party was behind the murder of Kasim, this was one report she did not look forward to making.
When she made the call, it was DI Ampstead who arrived on the scene first. He seemed genuinely concerned about Dawn’s safety, which, although touching to begin with, was quickly replaced by smirking and laughter amongst the rest of his squad, when Dawn gave her evidence.
The mere fact that everyone else in attendance gave the same eye-witness report still did not convince Ampstead that they were telling the truth.
