"This is a demanding position," I stated clearly. "The hours can be long and the work is fast paced. There's a major board meeting in two weeks that will require extensive preparation."
"Oh." Brenda's smile faltered. "How long are the hours typically?"
"Usually nine to six, but sometimes later if there's a deadline or an important meeting."
"And how often does that happen?"
"Often enough."
She bit her lip. "I was hoping for something more like nine to five, maybe with the option to work from home a couple days a week."
"This position requires being in the office every day and the hours are non-negotiable."
