Chapter Nineteen

901 Words
Kyle,  Paul didn't stay long after she'd come downstairs; long enough to meet her and promise to exact revenge on her behalf. I'd hoped that she'd find it endearing; he was ready to take on a new foe on behalf of a girl that his best friend said was special. Paul would never do it, Kyle didn't think so anyway. They'd ordered in for dinner, Kyle watched as Maggie picked at half of her food and left the other half untouched on the plate. He sighed and cleared the table, offering her something else; she'd shaken her head and smiled a small but beautiful smile at him. Maggie had stood up, heading over to make him a drink and they'd worked alongside each other in silence, heading into the living room when they were done; Kyle flipped the TV on and sat opposite her. They watched whatever was on the initial channel; some documentary that neither could look away from but were not paying attention to. It all got too much for him. "Can I ask you something?" he blurted out. She turned to him in shock and nodded, yes. "I kissed you today." she looked at him blankly, "Should I not have done that? You sort of went into yourself after that and kept away from me. I thought we were supposed to be together; I thought you wanted it to happen." his voice trailed off in defeat; she looked at him and realisation crossed her face. Maggie stood up and carefully crossed the room to sit next to him on the chair that was slightly bigger than an ordinary armchair. She slipped in next to him and he lifted his arm, placing it softly around her shoulders. "I... I erm… it was good." she reassured him, "I'm glad you did it was just a shock." he looked down a her, confusion in his eyes. He stared at those plump, gorgeous lips and moved in towards her; she closed the gap between them and placed her lips against his tentatively, before quickly moving away and blushing. Kyle beamed from ear to ear; he reached back in and kissed her harder, his tongue begging entry to her mouth to meet with hers; she did not deny him. Kyle stood and leant down to her, his hands either side of her on the chairs' arms. He kissed her hard and with so much passion that they both had to come up for air; Maggie held her ribs and panted, smiling at him. He wasn't sure what was going to happen tomorrow, but he knew he'd do it with her by his side, and he couldn't wait to build a future kissing her.  "Do you mind if I go to bed?" Maggie asked him softly.  Kyle walked her upstairs and waited whilst she showered and got changed into her night-time leggings; as she'd been out of the room he took the time to clear up from his raging outburst earlier on; clearing away the broken pieces of glass and tidying up the deodorants and aftershave's that he'd thrown to the floor.  She walked out of the bathroom with her towel tied underneath her arms; "I hate to ask you," she started, "but do you have a t-shirt I could sleep in please? I seem to have left my pyjama tops at the house. Sorry." he placed a finger over her lips and gently shook his head, walking over to his dresser and handed her a white to shirt. He rushed to help her as she turned around, dropped the towel and let it fall to the floor, exposing the naked skin of her top half. it was a multitude of colours; yellows, greens, blacks, blues and purples; all bruises all over her skin. Kyle had no idea how she was still standing. She cringed in pain as she lifted her hands and arms up to put the top on; Kyle was behind her in a flash, helping to pull the top down gently, turning her around to face him; Goddess she looked good in his top. Maggie blushed when she caught him looking at her, her bottom lip between her teeth as she squirmed under his approving stare. "Sorry baby, you look so good though." he'd never gotten this emotionally close to a girl, especially not this quickly. It terrified him, in an exciting way. She smiled as he called her baby and he realised, she'd never have been treated like this; not with her parents, certainly not with Ashton, and she had no friends so he could only guess she had had no boyfriends either. He slipped his arm around her waist and supported her into bed; all the while revelling in the sparks that flew through his skin, igniting fire within his belly, and a hunger for her in his jeans. Kissing her atop the head, he pulled the duvet up around her and said goodnight; as he started to walk away she reached for his arm, pleading with him to stay a little longer. "Please?" she whimpered; he nodded at her and lay on top of the covers next to her and waited for her to fall asleep in his arms. He found himself drifting, breathing heavily as he watched her beautiful features turn peaceful under his protection. It was a perfect moment; against his better judgement, he fell asleep with her wrapped in his duvet, laying on his arm and curled into his chest.
