Maggie I really hoped she was okay, I'd hate for anything to have happened to his mom; he'd already lost so much. I lay my hand on his knee as he sped back to town and turned the 20 minute journey into a 10 minute race; he kept apologising as he sped but I brushed him off, willing us to get there faster and hopefully ease some of his pain. As we pulled up outside I saw the cabbie sat on the old tree stump in the middle of the front lawn, his mom propped up against him on the floor.
