I feel a little disoriented as I wake up, but as soon as I make eye contact with Gavin everything that happens comes flooding back. I feel someone squeeze my other hand and pull it back until I realize it's Liz. After Gavin gives me some water and a nurse comes in to check on me I'm feeling a little bit better.
"Oh my God, I was so scared Melissa," Liz tells me with tears streaming down her face. "Your friend Jen called me to let me know what was going on and I felt like I was going out of my mind. I was just sitting out there praying that you would be okay, even when the doctors said they were sure you would be I just couldn't bring myself to get my hopes up.
