Elena's POV.
I pinched myself hard, wincing at the pain. "Ouch!" I whispered, hoping it was just a dream. But the truth hit me like a ton of bricks - it was real. The man I had a one-night stand with, the one who gave me the best s*x of my life, was none other than my new professor for the new semester. I couldn't believe it.
"Holy s**t," I muttered under my breath, "could my life get any worse?" I had tried to escape the drama with Adam, only to find myself in an even more compromising situation.
The classroom fell silent, and I stared at him, dumbfounded. But his gaze wasn't on me; it was fixed on the contraceptive pills, his face a mask of neutrality. I wondered what was going through his mind as he gazed at the contraceptive pills.
His eyes finally raised, and I flinched, expecting him to confront me. But instead, he asked, "Who owns this?" His voice was harsh, and I felt the weight of everyone's gaze upon me.
I hesitated, my hand trembling as I raised it stylishly. "It's me, sir," I stammered, my voice quivering. The room seemed to hold its collective breath, waiting for his response.
His eyes shifted towards me, and he tossed the pills in my direction with a nonchalant flick of his wrist. I caught them, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment.
He then headed to the front of the class, never once looking back. I wondered if he truly didn't recognize me, or if he was just choosing to ignore our past encounter. As I watched him walk away, Mercy whispered, "Pick it up," and nudged me softly.
I nodded, feeling a surge of shame wash over me. I quickly walked over to the front of the class, my head covered in embarrassment, and picked up the pills. The eyes of my classmates seemed to bore into me, and I couldn't help but feel like I was on display.
I sat down beside Mercy, my eyes fixed on the desk, trying to avoid eye contact. But he cleared his throat, forcing me to look up at him. He was looking incredibly hot, even in a simple shirt. His hair was perfectly arranged, unlike the last time we met. As our gazes met, my n*****s hardened, and I felt a flutter in my chest.
"Get a hold of yourself," Olivia, my wolf reprimanded me, and I rolled my eyes. "Not my fault he's so hot," I replied silently. "Look at his muscles!"
My wolf, Olivia, chided me again, "Focus, Elena. This is not the time to be drooling over your professor."
I tried to compose myself, but it was hard to ignore the attraction I felt towards him. I couldn't believe I was in this situation - lusting after my professor, who also happened to be the man I had a one-night stand with. This was definitely not what I had planned for my new semester.
"My name is Derek Danvers," he said, his deep voice commanding attention. I murmured, "Derek... what a lovely name..." without realizing I was speaking out loud.
Mercy hit me lightly on the arm, "Girl, you just moaned out his name!" she whispered, trying to stifle a giggle. I winked at her, "Didn't notice, I said," playing it cool, but Mercy just shook her head, chuckling. "You are something else."
My gaze drifted back to Derek, and I couldn't help but think, "I wished I had known his name earlier..." But then Olivia, my wolf, chimed in, "And what would you have used the name for?"
I replied, "You already know, I..." but trailed off as a realization hit me. "Wait, I've heard the name before... "
"Dummy! He's the youngest son of the Moonlit Pack!" Olivia said. I scolded myself, "how could I have forgotten?"
I sat mesmerized, watching as he effortlessly displayed his strength. My hands rested on the desk, my chin propped up on my palms, as I stared at him in awe.
"How could he possess such strength?" I wondered.
My mind wandered to the question that had been plaguing me since the start of class:
"Does he recognize me?" And if he did, "What would he think of me?" His unapproachable demeanor as a professor made me grateful for the anonymity of our previous encounter. "I couldn't help but thank the stars for being drunk that day," I thought, feeling a mix of relief and embarrassment.
As the class came to a close, Professor Danvers announced, "I will send the assignment to you all. Check the group chat." He packed up his things and headed out, leaving me feeling frazzled.
"Crap, how was I supposed to know what to write when I wasn't paying attention," I muttered to myself. My wolf, Olivia, chimed in, "I warned you, Elena." I rolled my eyes, feeling frustrated with myself.
As I stood up to pack my bag, Mercy suddenly let out a loud scream. I stared at her, concerned.
"What is it?" I asked, but she just gazed at me with her mouth agape, her eyes darting from her phone to me. "Mercy, what is it?" I asked again, but she remained silent, her expression frozen in shock.
I couldn't take the suspense anymore, so I gently pulled the phone out of Mercy's hand. As I scrolled through the screen, my eyes widened in shock at what I saw.
It was a viral hashtag: #InfidelitySaga, with posts and comments exposing Elena's cheating on Adam.
"What the fu….?" I trailed off, my mouth hanging open in disbelief. I scrolled further, reading the comments.
"I always knew Elena never loved Adam,"
someone wrote. Another comment caught my eye: "Thank you, Anna, for exposing her." The venomous words continued: "Elena is an i***t, how could she do this? Whore."
I couldn't take it anymore! I turned to Mercy with a fierce gaze. "Who the hell started this?" I demanded, my voice low and menacing.
Mercy's eyes flashed with anger as she spat out the name: "Anna!"
My eyes narrowed, my heart racing with fury. "I swear by the moon goddess," I vowed, my voice dripping with venom, "I will deal with that b***h!”
