CHAPTER XX : CONNECT

-Ashtan- "But this is not as easy as you thought" I mentioned drawing curiosity upon their faces "You see, our weapons are not part of our body, so it'll be hard to infuse thunder with it" I started explaining seriously as I raised my sword to show them "Yes, it is a good conductor of electricity, but it just let thunder flow into it, not totally hold its power" I continued adding emphasis on it, their faces grew more confused as their eyes widened and their eyebrows almost met each other "So what are we going to do?" Aisha asked as she looked at me carrying her blade staff but with her blank expression "I guess this is hard after all" Kurezma commented with a disappointed tone, nahh she's giving up again... "No, this isn't too hard" I disagreed with her, she just looked at me straight into my eyes "You can learn this if you wanted to" I added and smiled at her "Then tell us, please? I really want to" Nazif whimpered as he pleads me to teach him while his lower lip stuck out  "Yea, I'm gonna teach you, just wait ok?" I said as I laughed myself out "I'm just explaining things to you before you get into it" I continued with my hand stroking my hair  "Sorry" Nazif uttered shyly as he scratched his cheeks, but I'm sure he's not shy about it, I know him and his acting skills ahahahaha just kidding "Since our weapons aren't part of us, we have to make it a part of us, this is our weapon after all" I started explaining again to them, they just focused themselves to me like a child being taught about the alphabet by their teacher. They looked so funny ahahahahahahahaha "What do you mean by making it part of us?" Kurezma asked with confusion on both her expression and tone "Like making it as a part of our body?" she added, she raised her sword with both her hands showing it to us. It really is absurd to make something be part of you although it's not. "Yes, literally" I shortly answered "For example, our hair, it's a part of our body, it just kept on growing... We can't make it move, but we can feel it" I stated, the three of them looked at me intently as if they're seeking for more information again. I see they're growing interest upon this. "So how does that connect?" Aisha asked for more clarifications, I just smiled at her and showed them my sword again "Just like this one, it's not a part of our body, we can't make it move, but we can make use out of it" I briefly explained pertaining to my sword "By putting our cells into it?" Kurezma suddenly asked I don't know if she's serious with that or what ahahahaha, I saw Aisha and Nazif chuckled through my peripheral view "Of course no, all I'm saying is for you guys to feel it, to connect with it" I answered them "You have to feel as if you're the one flowing within your weapons, you have to feel that as if your weapons are connected to your hands, that it is a part of you" I continued giving them hints "You know what I'm saying? You get it?" I asked them and they responded with a slow motioned nod "Oh, so that's it?" Nazif sighed in relief, probably thinking that it's too easy "No" I blurted "It's not as easy as you think, it needs a lot of concentration, you see, we're not the Ordos to perform telekinesis to connect and move our weapons, but it is possible" I reminded them "So are we really using our mind to connect with our weapons?" Aisha asked again but now it's like she's believing me already, I see a glimpse of excitement in her eyes "Yes, by that you'll be able to sink in with your weapon and be able to use it as if it's your own hand" I answered her, it seems like they already understood what I'm saying, so they sat themselves down, placed their swords on their lap, held it with both hands, then started concentrating.      I just stood there waiting for them, I understand if they can't make it this day, it's a long process though. It'll take them tomorrow, or the next day to achieve this technique.     The first time I tried this had me the hard way too, it really wasn't that easy. I didn't learn this immediately, it took me weeks before I learned it. I've gone through a lot of trials in order for me to perfect this technique.      I kept on concentrating until I could feel myself flowing within my sword. Until then it became easy for me to use electricity with it, and it made me even stronger and more powerful. "I can't feel it" Kurezma uttered while her eyes closed, I looked at her and so did the others, gosh she might have distracted them. She took a deep breath a couple of times and silenced herself again. "Of course you can't, it's so soon. You just started doing that, results aren't that fast" I reminded her, but she just went back concentrating again, and so did the others. It really is hard to connect with that, it's just a piece of metal after all. But when they do, it's worth it "Just keep on concentrating until you feel yourselves into it" I continued as I sat down in front of them. -Kuzma-     Ashtan must have explained how it is done already. As for me, I did not learn the technique that way. I remember, I first used that when I was playing, about a year ago. I was just out for testing my new sword, I was even calling it 'my new toy' .      I wasn't serious about it, and that's when things happened. My sword just collided with the lightning which happened to be in the same location as mine, the same thing that happened to Kurez and my sword a while ago during the match. It struck me and my sword, which probably gave power to it.      Maybe I just exerted a lot of power into my sword too, that's why it became as powerful as that. I don't even wanna hear thunder rumbling or any of its sound when it's furious, it is indeed scary. But this method, Ashtan is teaching is more convenient than the way I learned it, mine was more dangerous and uncontrollable. Luckily, I managed to make it better.     My leg still hurts until now, the pain is over my skin. It's a large wound after all, so it really does, but unlike a while ago it got better now. My leg already feels numb as of now, I really really need lots of rest ahahahahaha. It'll heal as fast as a flash of lightning though, so no problem... hey I kept on repeating that.      Anyway, while I'm sitting, I grabbed my sword from a distance that I can still reach. It was centimeters away so I tried reaching it until I did. I held the handle with both my arms and raised it upwards. I took a deep breath calmly as I closed my eyes then started concentrating too. They were just there sitting and doing their concentration as well. Suddenly, I fell into my deep thoughts then I felt thunderbolts all over my body.      I can do this without concentrating anymore, I've mastered this already the moment I knew I can perform this technique. But meditations help a lot anyway. It enhances self-awareness, if I enhance my self-awareness, then I can unlock more of my powers and be able to use it effectively. It makes me more conscious about my well-being, as well as with this technique.      I'd be more aware even with the smallest details that I need in order to control electricity that flows within my sword. It also lengthens my attention span, in that way, I'd be more attentive with every single detail, I'd be more focused. So that, when I get to know my skills, then I get to execute them properly. When using our power, we pay a little sacrifice. That is to feel pain as we use it.      The stronger the power we produce, the more painful it is, unless you've mastered your powers a lot then it wouldn't cost you any pain at all. So meditations help me to reduce the pain that I may encounter as I use some power. The more I'm focused on producing my power smoothly, the lesser state of pain I'll think and feel. I wish I could tell this to them, but my current state tells me that I should take things easy ahahahahaha.
