CHAPTER LXV : THE MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS OF ZARODIAS

            “That’s made of titanium… it won’t break easily” Harald said proud of himself as he raised the chains that bind us. I wish I had powers like them. But it’s fine that I don’t have at least I can also be reliable at times like this.

            “Let me help” Hazol said as he held each ties I made probably to secure it using his psychic powers. As soon as he finished, I checked what he did with it. He’s amazing.

            “So here’s what we’re going to do… I will carry you all until we get on top. But you will help me too, you climb following my steps, ok? So that it won’t be that difficult for me?” I explained them what I wanted us to do. I often do this with my younger brothers and sisters so I know this would work.

            The only problem that we have now is if this guys know how to do it or not. I enjoy mountain climbing so much as I do it many times. It’s just that this mountain is so steep and it would be difficult to climb. They all nodded after I said that so they must have understood already.

            “Are you guys ready?” I asked them and they responded it with a nod “If one falls, all will fall. So be careful not to fall ok? Just follow as I do it, and make sure you grab into something so that you won’t fall” I said reminding them before I started climbing the mountain.

            Now, I know why they wanted us to do this. It’s for teamwork, if one falls, all will fall. So we all have to work together and to support each other so that we won’t fall. That’s a principle of teamwork that everyone has to learn. It always fails when there’s a weak in the team, so the other member should do their part to strengthen them.

            All members should stan up together as one to make a strounger and unbreakable bond towards achievement.

            I went up already and then the others follow. Since I am the first one who climbed up, I have to make sure that I’ll lead them to a stable area so that they could hold on to something strong and won’t fall. And if ever they slip, I can pull them up once more to get back on tracks. Still, this is so frustrating and needs a lot of focus.

            “Guys, just focus, ok? And follow my trails” I said reminding them again. I don’t know the height of this mountain but it seems like it’s taller than the mountains I have climbed back in our country. If I can make it on top of this mountain, then it would be another achievement for me and I would be so happy.

            The reason why I put Kurezma in last so that she can use whatever power she have to catch us if ever we fall. Most probably, she’ll use wind powers to slow us down from falling. Besides, we’ll fall on the sands anyway. You might ask me why I didn’t let Kurezma fly us upwards.

            Well, because it’s not just up to her so we can get on top. First, she’s not a Loft to do that, if she can, then she can only manage to bring herself. Second, it’s not teamwork of we only rely on one’s power, we have to figure out something that everyone can be involved so that everyone succeeds and everyone learns.

            And lastly, we’ll miss out the opportunity to bond with each other. I mean, this is our chance to do mountain climbing. Whereas mountain climbing is one of the outdoor recreational activity that is surely fun and amazing. Like for example, Kurezma and Zexal never see mountains before, so at least one time in their lives, they experienced and amazing experience such as this, mountain climbing!

            I just continued reaching to anything that I can hold on to lead us above while the others follow. I tied looking down and saw what’s down below. Everyone is doing just fine and they seem like they’re enjoying. Wow, we’ve come far as of now. If we continue, we’ll get above there in no time.

            “Woah!” I almost lost grip upon a rock when someone screamed below and pulled all of us. It’s Eeya, she slipped from a rock that made her lost her balance and almost fall. That’s the use of this chains… it keeps one of us from falling, so if we let go of our grasp, then we can go back to it…

            The only mistake I made is that I messed up with the line-up. I should have put a girl next to me, then another man, then another girl… you know, alternate. These girls have smaller hands so they have the higher chance of losing their grip. With the line-up that I made, if one of them let go, they can pull everyone.

            Unlike with the alternate where they follow a guy, this guy can just pull them back again if that happens. Gosh, next time I’d do that. I forgot about it a while ago, I should have done that. But that’s fine… we’re already half way there, we can’t go down now to fix it ahahahaha

            All we can do now is to do our best not to fall.

            “This is easier that I thought…” I heard someone spoke, it’s Harald while he kept climbing

            “Yea, and it’s a lot of fun too” Hazol agreed with him

            “I haven’t seen a mountain before, neither have I climbed one… so this is a great experience for me” Kurezma said agreeing with the two. I knew they’d be happy with this. This challenge is actually very hard and none of the power user has done anything to bring us above there instantly.

            But because of teamwork and positivity, we’re actually enjoying it now. If we complained about this challenge before taking it because we’re not even Lofts, and the man said that it would be hard for us because we’re not one, then this challenge would suck! But no, we chose to accept it openly.

            Everyone should be like that, we should not complain with whatever trial we may face, instead be happy and think positively. We’ll never know, despite how hard it is, we’re actually in the verge of completing it. Like us now… I knew we’re near to the peak.

            “So do I Kurezma, same feeling… same thoughts ahahaha just how great this is! I can’t say it in words” Zexal said

            “Let’s do this again next time… but with the others too” Hazol spoke again minding the others who are also facing their challenges right now

            “Sure, that would double the fun!” I added as I continued reaching for rocks and branches that I can hold on to

            “Yea… I’m just sorry about what happened a while ago ahahaha” Eeya said pertaining to that time she slipped

            “Don’t mind it… it’s part of the challenge, we’re not perfect” Harald said consoling Eeya ahahaha he said it right

            “Guys, to tell you what…” I initiated “The air and the temperature has changed in this part, I think we’re getting close… just a little more patience and we will surely reach our success up there” I continued motivating them to do well

            “Really?” Zati asked… finally she talked ahahahaha

            “Yea, I can tell” I confirmed it to her “Right Kurezma?”

            “I can feel the wind too, and it tells me, yes, we’re close to it” Kurezma agreed with me

            “Ok… let’s do our best guys, it’d be hard if we fall right now right here” Zati said reminding all of us. After several minutes of climbing up above, the air suddenly blew strong, and there were leaves flying with the winds everywhere. This must be because of the high altitude that’s why. This isn’t that of a problem.

            “Gosh, what’s happening?” Hazol asked as he noticed it too

            “Hold on tight! Don’t let go!” I reminded them as the wind really got strong… gosh, I don’t they can handle this, so I have to be strong for them! Suddenly, we heard loud noises that came from those dark clouds. The noise that they are making is so unfathomable that we can’t recognize them.

            I just continued climbing up so that we won’t waste time, they are still not showing themselves anyway. But whatever they are, it’s the reason why I put Kurezma at the bottom.

            “Oh no! what are those?” Eeya asked as the noises got louder and clearer. We all looked at it and we saw an unknown creature that I haven’t seen before.

            “Cockatrice!” Kurezma exclaimed “It’s what scares us in our home… they are very dangerous. It could kill you just by looking at you” she said explaining to us

            “Oh gosh, don’t do anything that gets their attention, ok?” Hazol said. There were like five of them, and it would be difficult for us to move. What a challenge this is!

            “There are many of them here since we’re very high…” Kurezma added

            “What do we do?” Zexal asked “We can’t stay still until they’re gone so that they won’t notice us. Our hands would wear off” he added

            “Is there something you know that we can do, Kurezma?” Hazol asked her

            “Wait let me think…” She said “Keep moving everyone!” she added that made me climb again. We continued climbing and good thing those Cockatrice haven’t noticed us yet.

            “I know… it kills everyone it sees right? What if we cover ourselves with mirror so that if it looks this way, it would just see itself… right?” Kurezma suggested, she’s right now, how can we do mirror?

            “How do we do that?” Eeya asked

            “Harald can…” Hazol answered suggesting Harald would do it, I mean how exactly? “Harald can make Metal glass, you know that metal that still reflects? The amorphous one, it’s made up of three or more metals such as copper, magnesium and the other one…Yttrium, yea that’s it” Hazol continued, he really is smart

            “I’ll try…” Harald said as he let go from climbing and started doing it

            “Kurezma, help him” Hazol called Kurezma… both of them started doing their work while I continued climbing “Vedasto, are you ok? We needed your strength since these two can’t use their powers to climb, so let’s help each other to pull them up with us” Hazol called me

            “It’s my pleasure” I answered as I continued what I have been doing

            “One more thing, Zexal… you can also use water to reflect… you can help them, but later if these cockatrice attacks us, ok?” Hazol added “You ok with that Vedasto?” he asked my assurance

            “It’s fine with me, just do what you all have to do” I answered and climbed up. Suddenly those loud noises were gone, the wind restraint blowing strongly, and it went just fine. It means it’s gone…

            “We did it?” Harald asked as he put down the metal glass they made

            “I think we did…” Kurezma answered him

            “Let me take a look…” Hazol said to make sure if the cockatrices are gone “They’re gone” he said, he probably looked through the metal glass that covered us ahahaha

            “Yes we did it… that was amazing!” Harald exclaimed happily as they put out those things they used

            “Yes, we totally did it…” I agreed with him

            “That was great we drove them away” Kurezma mentioned

            “We actually erased their existence ahahaha” Hazol corrected her

            “Oh…” Kurezma ohh’ed

            “And we didn’t just drove them, I can see the peak. We’re almost there, so let’s climb faster” I added that made them all happy.
