Big Save Furniture is on Level Two. It has twelve of the same vinyl office chairs. It’s perfect for everyone in class to face each other and learn some social studies–one of my favourite topics to teach.
Everything in the world seems to come back to social studies. It’s about looking at humanity’s decisions and working out whether they were right or wrong and what we can learn from that. Talking about the control of women throughout history, I find myself hosting a mock debate with the kids where I force one half of them to say marriage is repressive and archaic; the other side has to argue no, marriage is the cornerstone of civilisation and always has been and male jealousy over wandering women has to be avoided ‘cause it’ll make the world collapse.
