Duncan I lay awake staring at the ceiling as the sun begins to break past the horizon. Chloe’s hand is splayed across my stomach, her head sharing my pillow as she makes the cutest little snuffling sounds in her sleep. Dominick is curled up behind her, his arm wrapped firmly around her waist holding her tightly to his chest. I should get up, I think as I stroke her soft arm absentmindedly. If I lay here much longer, I’m going to reach for her. The events of last night play out in my mind’s eye, and I feel my body start to heat up. Dom had said she was perfect, and she was. I’d never felt this content before in my long life. I’m not sure I’m entirely ok with this feeling. I’d avoided creating these types of bonds for a reason. If you love someone, it hurts like hell when they’re no longer
