“Maybe I should stay and paint the trim in the nursery.” I’m procrastinating, looking for any excuse to not go out, and I know it, but I can’t help the way I feel.
“Chloe,” Dominick says quietly, taking me by the shoulders and guiding me towards the front door with a gentle, yet firm touch. “We’ve been over this. You need to get out of the house, and it’s time the pack starts to get to know you.”
“But-“ I try to protest, my heart pounding at the thought of leaving the apartment. It’s been over a month since the egg made its grand debut into our lives and I haven’t left the apartment since. The furthest I’ve been from it has been out on the balcony, and even that felt a little far for me.
“Chloe, everything will be fine,” Duncan kisses my forehead, but helps Dominick push me out
